We pulled the whole exhaust system off the Ventura and refit it. It took pretty much the entire weekend. I ended up cutting off the brackets on the tail pipes and welding them on about an inch and a half closer to the wheels. Not perfect, but way better. Maybe I can get them angled up to match the 1/4 a with a little more tweaking.

Overall, I'd give this system a B-/C+ for x-body fitment. Maybe it fits better on f-bodies. I'm still mildly annoyed about the extra $100 for splitter tail pipes that didn't fit without modification. If I took another 1-1/2" or so out of the hoop over the axle, I think the system would go where it's supposed to. However, my welding skills are rusty so I didn't trust myself to do that job neatly. As a result, the mufflers sit farther forward than I'd prefer and hang lower to clear the floor pans. The x-pipe and first gen Firebird down pipes fit great with minimal trimming. Got it all sealed up with a combo of band clamps for easy removal if we ever need to pull it apart. At any rate, it's all way better than that rattle trap system that was on there before.

Cruising again, topped off the tank at Costco on the way home, $4.49 for 91.

About 71 degrees today.

Had a good time, my doggie didn’t notice.

Goldie had some issues with the distributor and I had to replace advance plates and springs, vacuum advance cannister, reset the timing. I also rebuilt the monojet and retorqued the intake/ exhaust manifolds. I found a problem with kick down switch so I unplugged it. The car is was running a little rough and warm It's good now. oh yeah I changed the wheels to 14x6 steelies

It was a beautiful, sunny 73 degree day in DFW yesterday so the bird came out for some fresh air and a fill-up of 93 octane. My dad stopped by and we went for a nice 45 minute drive. It had been 41 years since the last time he drove the car. He had a blast, but did note he had to roll the window up by hand when we put the A/C on.

On my Judge I recently had the shifter rebuilt and I also changed the differential oil , next I will probably be checking the 1- 2 detent and pulling the side cover on the M-21. Car is up and running well at the moment, put gas in it ( $5.54 a gallon)(ouch!?!) drove it around the neighborhood for an hour all is well.

Pushed it out of a garage to get out a snowmobile. They don't push as easy as summer in Mi.

Cool

Scrubbed the whitewalls with a new cleaning product I tried today.

Made it a bunch easier so happy about that.

I have a love - hate relationship with these tires.

I love the way they make the car look and I hate keeping them clean.

Every couple hundred miles they’re looking filthy again, the front disc brakes really throw the dust. Maybe there’s some low dust brake pads that can help.

Portugal wants some detailed documents to register a car from outside the EU.

One such document is the manufacturer's build sheet or invoice with equipment supplied.

Let's hope the PHS supplied dealer invoice will suffice. One thing I noted was the tape deck and clock - neither of which the car had. The radio hole was cut for an aftermarket radio that was gone, and no clock - just a blank off plate.
