Let's hope the PHS supplied dealer invoice will suffice. One thing I noted was the tape deck and clock - neither of which the car had. The radio hole was cut for an aftermarket radio that was gone, and no clock - just a blank off plate.

The alternator kicked the bucket on the Ventura, so we installed a new one. While we were under the hood, we fixed the leaky thermostat housing that's been getting progressively worse and installed a new upper radiator hose.

I painted the thermostat housing engine color with the hopes that it looks weird enough to accelerate the 4bbl intake swap

New halogen headlights and power steering pump for the Ventura at school shop night last night. I discovered the trans leak I've been chasing is coming from the front pump area which sucks. We're not going to pull the trans anytime soon, so as a last resort I put some trans stop leak in.

Took the Goat out for a drive today for the first time in a while. Runs good!

After 16 months out of commission initial fire up yesterday. Very happy . Engine was burning oil badly. Rings were out of it. So complete refresh lucky got away with a hone. New bearings and modified the oil pump. .Engine guy is overwhelmed with work so I waited 10 months to get it back. Repainted and detailed everything ,looks great.
Decided to get trans a health checkup too, I do beat on the car … New custom rad just playing it safe .
So after a couple dumb things it’s running great . Just now need weather to warm up so I can abuse my drag radials …

I have a new M&H dash harness for my 65 GTO and I'm trying to label the wires.and where they go. I have the colored wiring diagram but it is confusing. Does any one have a photo or diagram of their original labeled dash harness ? Thank you!

Are those knock off Corvette wheels in the foreground? Were they on the Chevelle? If so, can’t say I’ve seen that before.

Got a little misfire so I checked under the dist cap and found that the rotor was loose. Nylon bolts got replaced, one was loose the other broke off. Can't believe it ran.

On the GTO a while back, the rotor contact broke free and was flopping around loose in the rotor. Still ran, too!

I'm often impressed by how forgiving, but also how fragile, engines can be at the same time.

Yes. I took them off my '66 Corvette. As soon as the gold line tires show up... they are going back on the Corvette.

I'm thinking I might start a whole thread on this car so anyone interested can follow it along.
I bought this 1965 Pontiac Parisienne Convertible way back in May 1985. So just about 40 years ago. How do I remember this? Well, my wife was within a day or so of giving birth to our third child, she was home looking after the older 2 kids and I decided to go out and look at this car. Which I bought and "The Bride" wasn't too pleased with me.

Now let me confess right here that I was totally ignorant of what I was buying. Its a 1965 but it had a 1966 front clip on it. The car had been in a savage front-on before I bought it (I didn't know!!), the chassis had a crack which I had welded before I could get a certificate of roadworthiness. But I LOVED IT....

Drove it for a few years, I slowly found all the right 1965 panels but I stored them till I could get the body redone. In the interim, I had a full leather interior done. Used the car for a few weddings but in 1992, I rolled it into the garage, pulled off the 1966 front clip and just got busy with my business. Time got in the way but a lack of money sure didn't help either.

In 1999, I bought my 1966 Grand Prix which I have driven a long way in the past 26 years. The poor old Parisienne just watched in the background.

So this Parisienne is one of 47 built in Right Hand Drive for export. I got that info from Canadian Pontiac Services. I don't know how many came to Australia but I doubt it was the whole 47. These RHD cars were sold in England and South Africa as well. I know of an original RHD 1965 Parisienne Convertible which still exists in England.

My car was originally triple white with red carpets and dash but it was painted Ferrari Red before I bought it.

I've now turned 75 and I'm winding down our business so its time to get the Parisienne restored. I have a fantastic metal man/painter and I've been waiting for him to retire himself so he will take it to his home and start work on it. 2 weeks ago he told me to start stripping it out which I've done and it will leave here on Saturday morning.

The best part of this car is it is virtually rust free. The trunk floor is like new. ALL the floors and frame are totally rust free. The ONLY rust we can find is a 2" diameter bubble on the bottom of the left door and a small section about 4" long under the windscreen. And that's it. The body has had a few repairs along the way so there is a bit of filler (bondo) in a few small sections but nothing major.

So here's few pictures and if you think I should start a thread, I'd be pleased to hear.. Let the job commence.

As a general rule, cars in Australia don't rust. Much..... Well, if you live by the sea or if you live in a wet damp area they will rust but if the car is in a city, plenty of sun, not a lot of rain, they do OK. I live in a dry area so no issues for me.

NO roads ever get salted here. At all. Simply because we only have a very small area where it snows and that's only for a very small window of time compared to many other places in the world. The snow fall is in the same mountaineous areas where we get snow melt running into our dams and water supply so they don't salt or use any chemicals which might impede on the quality of our water.
