king, yes, it's kind of a weird license. In this case, purchased by a government entity. Requires no activation, just the physical media. It's a variation of the Enterprise Edition that I think is only available for government purchase.
I installed it back in 2007 on XP and it's worked perfectly on every windows machine and every windows flavor since then. Pretty impressive how good MS can do things when they have a really big customer.

But yeah, I'm guessing there are some limits in the EULA that I am exceeding

I'm more worried about identity theft and somebody managing to gain access to retirement accounts and drain them. In the last five years, somebody tried to open accounts in my wife's name at various online retailers and my credit card numbers have been stolen at least 3 - 4 times. We locked our credit about ten years ago after another attempt by someone to obtain credit cars in my wife's name. The world is getting crazy.

There are two types of encryption, at rest and in transit. Yes, it I theoretically possible to crack at rest encryption. Personally I would trust the cloud datacenter security protected by thousands of security teams vs my personal computer that I type this post on.

I also have nothing worth stealing. Worse case scenario they put money in my account lol

Yes big problem.

I recommend to fiends and fam a separate credit card or paypal for internet transactions.

There are tird party insurers for id theft but you would pay a premium for sure.

Lucky for me I'm too poor the leave the house and buy anything lol not lol 🙄

Bank of America used to have a "Virtual Credit Card" option you could access online. It allowed you to generate a temporary credit card number with a near expiration date and whatever max dollar limit you wanted. I would choose the expiration date one month out and set the credit limit $5 over what the actual charges would be. That prevented anybody else from making charges to that card. You could get as many temporary card numbers as you wanted.

It worked great, but for some reason they discontinued it. I cancelled the card after that.

If you don't want the Office 365 subscription, there is this option for Office 2024:

It's not as feature loaded as Office 365, but will probably match your needs.

The Office 2024 was the one time purchase I mentioned in the original post. I am OK with the dollar amount, but when I read the reviews, it sounded like you only got one shot at downloading it. If you have to re-load software at some point down the road (for example a bad hard drive or if I were to wipe the computer and reinstall Windows), you must buy the software again. Some reviews stated the download failed and they were charged anyway.

When you purchase it, you'll be forced to create a Microsoft account if you don't have one already. Your account will keep a record of all your Microsoft licenses and support software recovery and reloads of the packages you've purchased. With any download like this, make sure you have a secure Internet connection with ample bandwidth to handle several hundred megabytes of data.
