Ě went to the swap meet at the local dragstrip over the weekend. Came across a nice intake dated K179. Of course I didn't need it but the price was too good to turn it down.
How many out there are guilty of doing the same thing?

Depends on what the part is, what its worth to me.
I found a Perfromer RPM, here, for $50.00. It took a little more to ship it...

Guilty as charged. For some reason I am addicted to intakes personally. I've got a few dozen. From stockers to wild.

At a street rod clubs flea market I found a pair of long branch exhaust manifolds for $75. You just have to look.

Sounds like you guys are lucky. In my area it seems like everyone wants retail price for their dirty junk parts…..I have given up on swap meets.

I always find deals at the swaps. I stopped picking up parts that others may need or are looking for, I usually get stuck w/ them. I never get a call saying, BURD, found this for you Lol

Not much for swap meets around here. But, I did purchase this from Facebook. Guy I bought it from had purchased a '74 Formula new. I will be talking to him more in the future.

Yes, that was me. Now I find myself giving away or selling very inexpensively all the stuff I accumulated that I am sure I will never use.

Mine is contained to under the work bench. Just two ‘72 400 blocks, a ‘59 389 block ( for my Catalina), four or five sets of heads ( 7K3 and 6X-4), couple of 400 cranks, three sets of OE rods, couple of cams ( HE 260 and OE) and tons of accessory mounts for GP and ‘71-‘76 “B” bodies.

Ive gotten bad about brining home books, like the old interchange manuals, or fisher body manuals. Things like that.
I also like to grab the late 70s BOP Qjet cores because sometimes they can be find for next to nothing, and I like them. 4150 Holleys too, Ill buy them if they are cheap, throw a kit in them and then throw it on marketplace. Not so much to make money, but just to get parts off of shelves and back to being used.

I went looking for his bathtub intake under the workbench. It was sitting on a piece of plywood. Picked the plywood up and there was a '61/'62 SD intake underneath it that I didn't know about. K
