Hello all. I've been using the Terminator X Stealth EFI (550-1002) for a few years now. I decided to add the HyperSpark setup. Everything is installed, firmware updated to V3 (both 3.5" Handheld & ECU). New startup GCF Wizard config with proper settings for HyperSpark (with Stealth you have to change Reference Angle to 57.5° it defaults to 50.0°). My issue is when cranking, I'm not getting RPM signal and no start. 3.5" Handheld reads "Stall". Checked all connections, all new equipment right out of the box. Was getting late last night, plan on troubleshooting some more later when I get home from work. Was wondering if anyone experienced anything similar, maybe give me a clue on where to start looking? Thanks.

I still think you may have a setting wrong on the handheld, I would verify that against the link I sent from EFI systems pros, make sure you have it set to 1 pulse per fire and all. My Hyperspark install went smooth, but when I first did the terminator X install well before that I had a similar issue. I selected something wrong with GCF wizard and it wouldn't fire. The wiring to go to the hyperspark isn't much so there just arent that many errors to make. You could also check and see if its sparking at a plug. Make sure its not a timing issue with the distributor body. Unlikely but easy to check off.

Thx for checking. I did verify the correct GCF settings. I am going to check for spark later when I get home. I heard if you touch the white wire from the box to ground the coil should spark. I just don't want to keep turning the motor. If the dizzy isn't spinning it's not going to drive the oil pump and I have no oil pressure. Yes this is a crazy simple install, I just don't get it.

That’s all connected mechanically. If the engine is turning the distributor is turning even if it’s not firing. The distributor gear rides on the cam gear which is connected to the crank by the timing chain.

Yeah you're right. Wasn't thinking about that. A little frazzled right now.

If you don't find a simple issue on your own, and don't get an answer here I would consider emailing the dudes at EFI Systems Pros (especially if you bought from them, which I always recommend) Nothing against Holley, but specifically with the EFi stuff I tend to get faster better answers from the guys at EFI systems. It might help here if you tell everyone exactly what you used to perform the swap. What has changed from your previously working system? Are you using the same coil? Did you use one of the jumper harnesses from Holley?

Basically I'm just replacing a GM HEI I've been using with the Terminator X Stealth for awhile now. All new components, i bought the Hyperspark coil and dizzy from Butler ( I buy alot from them with the poly gear installed which is recommended for Hyd Roller which i have. Hyperspark 2 ignition box and adapter from Holley. Just got the EFISystems Pro adapter because I want to keep using my tach as well. I just verified I'm certainly getting spark. Reached out to Holley, asked me to confirm the LED lights on ecu are reading correct, they are. Light on the ignition box stays Orange when cranking which I believe means no signal from ECU from what I've read. I'll try reaching out to EFi Systems I've bought from them in the past Agree, great dudes. I've been doing alot of this troublshooting with the fuel pump relay out so I'm not constantly dumping fuel thx.. I'm actually digging out my 850 double pumper now just in case. This is getting crazy.

Ok. I found the issue. The distributor pigtail was wired incorrectly from Holley. After correcting that I got RPM signal. Engine fired up for a minute then stalled. I wasn't expecting it to fire right up with dizzy at 0 TDC like they call for. Normally my idle timing is 24-26. I'm going to mess with that today, but at least I'm making progress. Thx again.

The ignition controlling system should handle all of that.
Once you get it running sustainably, you can lock your timing via the handheld to check it. Just lock it at like 25* and then check it with a timing light. Verify its reading the came on the light, adjust if necessary.

No luck with that. I have to peddle it to keep it going. Just stumbles and dumps fuel. Plugs fouled. One of the Holley forum guys said to put balancer 25 btdc
and line up #1 plug to fire there. Was thinking of advancing it didn’t know if it would mess with ECU. May try that. Don’t know how this thing says you could be at 0 and start.
