Default 64 gto vs 65 gto quarter emblem placement

is the emblem mounted in the same place between both cars on rear quarter? i have a pic a 64's dimmensiin bht dont want to drill until im sure. i need to drill for my 65

They’re different.

Hopefully someone here can give you some dimensions.

"64 emblem is much higher up on the panel than the '65.

Interesting note. Mine were slightly different side to side. I drilled mine at the same slightly different positions, and kept the quarter sections for proof to the nay sayers.

I had a buddy tell me once: If the rear quarter emblems are straight, then the car is a clone!

Have owned several true '65 GTO's, and still have one I've had since 1982. The emblems were straight on every one of them.
