Trying to find a part number and source for the correct size gasket that goes between the 4 bb Carter AFB carburetor and the air cleaner on a 1965 GTO.
My carb is a Carter 4034S (1966) although the books show 3896S is correct for a 65. Not sure what the difference is between the two but I dont think the gasket is any different. Bought one from Ames for 64-67 which turned out to be a Victor Reinz 71-13814-00 however that is just a bit too small in diameter and I had to cut and expand it to fit but that somewhat defeats the purpose of the gasket. Thanks DV |

The 4034S is a 1966 carb but should be the same as yours. All non hipo AFB's have the same size air cleaner seat. The gasket may have been dried out. If you get another one and it doesn't fit soak it in water and it should expand.

Here is the gasket I use on my ‘65 Survivor with the factory 3896S dated to the car.
Fits perfectly. Last edited by 60sstuff; 05-13-2025 at 09:16 PM. |

DM me with your mailing address. . I can send a gasket or gaskets left over from the rebuild kits I've used.
