Highs expected to be in the mid to upper 90s, maybe even triple digits for the next week. Humidity index will be 105-110.I work in my shop from 7am to 11. Then I break for lunch and a siesta until supper. I go back to the shop about 6pm and work to about 9.
I am not doing anything strenuous, but even the small stuff I do gets me. I reckon being 74 may have something to do with it.

A 118° in the shop is my breaking point. I close up an hour early when it gets to that point.

97-99 yesterday in Southern Ohio with a 105-110 heat index. Plenty hot for sure. I try to remember the miserable, cold winter we had here last year on days like that! My shop building is heavily insulated. If I keep the big doors closed, and window shades down, it stays pretty workable on hot days until about 3:00-4:00 PM. Then the heat gets too much for me and I have to quit until the sun goes down. No AC in the shop. On a 97 degree day it will stay under 85 inside until late afternoon.

95° here at 10am. I'm literally on the Atlantic, where its usually cooler. This sucks, my Yankee blood can't handle this heat. If anyone needs me I'll be standing in the freezer.

I just got back from a trip to Connecticut...stayed in the old family home with no A/C...90+ degrees with 65% humidity was really tough. It's hotter here in AZ, but so much more comfortable.

High 90's here in west TN.
I've got a 24,000 BTU window unit in the 2400 ft/sq shop. On these really hot days I set it to about 77 degrees .. which is about the best it can do from 1pm to 5pm. It expends most of it's energy lowering the humidity instead of the temp, which is fine. On these hot days I only do short bursts of outside work unless I'm in a machine with AC, otherwise I'm in the shop doing maintenance work. Get the mowing done from 6pm till about 8pm. In a year or so I hope to have something like a 36,000 btu heat pump system for the shop. Want to find a used one if I can. Going to make a whole shop air filter out of an old air handler unit. Don't mess around with heat like this, first sign you feel dizzy, get indoors.

Cool weather for the last week, getting into the low 80s at most.
Right now 69 degrees just before 11am. Should start seeing highs around 90 by tomorrow and into the low to mid-90s next week. It’s a dry heat, rarely humid here in So Cal. ![]() The heat isn’t on quite yet but it’s coming.

Hsv got to 98, with a 110 HI predict. Supposed to be all sunny and HOT, but the unpredicted thunderstorm cooled that prediction.
Just means more grass to cut. Only about 4 rainless days since new years. |

It is 101 here right now. THI is about 110. They are calling for severe weather tonight. Hopefully it will cool down some. I am retired so I don't have to get out, but I pity those that have to. I was a firefighter for 30 years and heat never bothered me. But, the older I get the less tolerable I am to heat and cold!
