I cannot begin to imagine the stresses they are under, but they are (literally) digging out.

It's the beginning of snow in the Northern regions. It's already in the National parks in upper Idaho, I think.
There is a scramble this time of year, a million things to get prepared. And, sadly, until a lawsuit plays out, his hands are pretty tied. Provided he doesn't get hosed, it could be a long hard battle to get a settlement that is 100% ,on the charter owner. The school district was very evasive when I tried to reach someone., just to get a accident report that should be public. Tells me, no one wants to step up and act with integrity. I would guee this is a very long situation before he can be in a business operation. Floods, fires, they just suck so so much. |

I will say that any of you who had aluminum heads at his shop are at a loss. This is going to be a long process for Dave and the company who owned the bus.

I talked with Dave over the weekend. They have been working to get their place ready to sell, so they can get a new place with a shop. Dave is working a couple of part time jobs to keep the bills paid and to allow him to collect new tools to restart the business.
He bought a used flow bench and a 5 Axis porting machine that needs some work before it can go into service. At best he hopes to be able to start catching up on work that was in the shop when the fire happened sometime after the first of the year. He says he has been burning the candle at both ends trying to get back on his feet and asks everyone to forgive him for not replying to messages. Now lets everyone pray he can find a new home and shop sooner than later.

Thanks for the update. I am glad he is not giving up and throwing in the towel. He is one resilient man and determined. I don't think I could come back from a calamity of this magnitude through no fault of his own. Wish him the best.

I chatted with Dave this weekend so I'll pass on an update.
The lawsuit is still ongoing and until it's settled they're not moving forward with new plans. They're fixing up their place as time and resources allow. Dave is still working at the Harley shop part time and he has gotten the dyno set up and operating so he's been tuning engines and sorting out problems for folks. Big win there! He's been going though renewing bearings and such in the used CNC mill he bought as he has time, looking forward to the day he has a place to set it up. He's spread out in 3 locations and is as busy as ever. Dave and Lisa aren't out of the woods yet so take a minute and send a prayer to light a fire under the lawyers to get them the settlement they deserve!
