Always interesting to see the old next to the new., but having a pair of 2-door cars in the garage can make getting in and out of them a challenge. Especially with the length of the 2nd gen F body doors. It's amazing to see the packaging job BMW did with my wife's 428i coupe. The doors aren't as long, but thanks to front seats that glide forward, it's easier to access the back seat. The Firebird has a lower roofline and seating position, and is wider inside, but the dang high beam switch is right where the left footrest is in a BMW, so guess what I keep accidentally hitting. Wheelbase is 2 inches longer on hers, but the Firebird body is 9 inches longer overall. Switching between the two, you can feel it all in the front end of the Firebird. Each is a blast to drive though!

It's alive! Got the engine on 67 GTO started after it sat for quite awhile. Wouldn't start yesterday.....probably flooded it and there is no choke on the carb (AED). Checked the timing and it was dead on. This morning I gave it a couple of quick pumps and turned the key and it fired right up.....no fires, no explosions and no funny noises coming from the engine. Looks like a transmission line is leaking at the radiator but that should be a quick fix. After I take care of that today I will run it for an extended period of time to make sure it doesn't overheat and then change the oil again. The sound of 600hp with open headers is music to my ears (but probably not my neighbors).

Put my rear bumper on my 66 2+2. Worked on prep for front bumper. Got my horns cleaned up and cleaning up and rebuilding my front turn signals.

Wet sanding the hood with guidecoat. Using 1200, taking out the 600 scratches.

Got about half way through the installation of the 3" exhaust with "X" pipe and cutouts on my 67 GTO. Originally installed it about 12 years ago and was never happy with how low it hung. Since that time I purchased a lift....which has made the job 1000% easier and it looks like I can get it to tuck up nicely. Should get it finished tomorrow and then it is onto the brakes.

I added a center arm rest in my Firebird. I have developed arthritis in my shoulders and driving for anything longer than an hour or so gets pretty uncomfortable. I found one on line that seemed like it would work so I gave it a shot. I had an extra hinged lid so I didn't have to worry about drilling into my good one. I have taken a couple of longer trips with it and it seems a lot better. And, like everything else I've done to the car it is reversable.

That really looks nice! I am envious. Your washing skills are obviously top notch. And thanks to the angles of those pictures, I can definitely see the difference in where my scoop is in relationship to the hood opening setting on top of the Torker-I intake.

I appreciate your comments but I was joking about my washing skills which are are mediocre at best. But, I use this Wolfgang's Uber SiO2 rinseless wash. Very simple process but does require some elbow grease. Compared to most other methods I've used over the years it's the easiest and yields pretty good results.

Also, thanks to my very awesome car guy for getting the scoop in the right place at the right angle. I have a factory intake and Qjet but aftermarket block and Butler billet mounts that required significant mods to get it right.

Took the Firebird to Road America for the BaT Alumni Gathering. It was a good time and we were treated well. I would recommend going to one if it comes to an area near you.

Really good weekend at the swap meet. Picked up a NOS (Hurst) his/hers shifter and bezel for the 72 TA as well as a tan steering wheel, drop base to use with the new performer rpm and some pro touring fender to core support braces that look really good. Really getting excited about this car, the new motor went in this week.

Found T tops for the 97 WS6 at the paint shop and a set for my friends 79 Z28. We got a headlight bezel and spinner hubcaps for the 58.

There were some really nice 8 lugs for my ‘65 Grand Prix we talked ourselves into but thankfully someone bought them before we could.

Missed out on some ‘55 hubcaps (15”) that I need but my fault for waiting

About to order wheels and tires for the 67 RS Camaro and will be checking a few projects off the list.
