WOW!!! I owned that car for over 10 years-sold it in 2005. It sold new out of Millen, GA (not Milan-easy mistake to make). Liberty Blue, parchment interior, bench seat, originally column shift auto (was a four speed when I had it), hideaways (it was winking when I sold it), hood tach (repro, by me).

I am SO glad to hear it was restored...it sure did deserve to be. I had fun with it when I had it. It apparently had been set up for low bucks racing. Had ladder bars (welds were broken), Crane gold rockers and a few other things for racing. Was wicked fast, but I never "officially" raced it, so never got a time slip.

Do you have any info you can share about its whereabouts? I would love to see it in all its glory, even if only pictures. And by one of your comments, it sounds like you owned it at one time?

Wow it originally sold for $42,500, then after a couple years of restoration asking for $150k, damn. At least the car is alive, someone new can enjoy it and the restoration person got a solid job to make a living on and bring to life.

It's all a bit much for me personally but then again, how many judges are there and in great enough shape that people wanna buy it at the price of a condo. LOL

It costs $100k or more to do a quality restoration today .

So if the guy did it right he just about broke even and invested years into the project. .

Oh ya it's easy $100k on that car if it looks great now. I've seen way higher on cars that weren't as rough, hell the body work alone could've been $40k easy then frame off etc, whoa.

Some people like the journey and it sounds like the buyer didn't do the restoration so it's drop off car and cash and call me when it's time to sell. LOL

The new owner got hopefully a limited trouble free car, the restoration BS is exhausting and usually not appreciated so the buyer does give up big money for all convenience but it's usually worth it most times.

Curious on restoration pics and did it sell yet?
I'm not keeping up with the current timeline.

Hilton beachside. And of course surfing. My other buddy had a lifted yellow Jeep we did up ,
on the end of the causeway there was. Candy apple red 69 bird convertible I remember down there.
