I am currently working on a Pontiac 400 RA IV engine. I am a little concerned about the casting number. It is stamped on the passenger side behind #8 cylinder. I've never seen the number stamped. I've only seen it cast into the block. Has anyone ever seen this? The engine is in the car so I can't look to see if it is 4 bolt mains.

This is normal for a Ram Air IV engine.

Thanks for the input. I was concerned. But it seems deceiving.
