I was planning to try running the "twin" at Loring this month, but probably can't. The starter (Tilton) has decided to just spin without engaging the flywheel. Hoping to access the starter by removing the belly pan, but might not be possible.

I managed to remove the starter out the bottom- not fun, but successful.
The adapter plate is held to the engine's block plate by 3/8" and 7/16" bolts, but the starter motor is held to the adapter by only 1/4" bolts, all three of which were loose. I cleaned things up, red-Loctited them and put a little extra torque on them. So I might still get to the Loring event.

It's always the goofy little stuff that tries to derail a trip to the track. Glad you were able to remove it and not a difficult fix. Best of luck if your able to go and run.

I'll forego the Loring spring event. Doesn't make sense to haul 800 miles for an inaugural new-engine run. Instead I'll get to a local tenth-mile drag event, and then hope there will be a fall event at Loring.
There are other reasons- I'm busy cleaning out a spare upstairs room to move the laundry up from the basement as promised to the wife, family events, medical appointments, installation of a trailer brake controller in the Suburban, etc. etc.

Strange- how the exhaust doesn't sound like a twin, just sounds mean like the four did! And totally unlike my odd-firing John Deere.
Neat tractor. The very first time I let out a clutch pedal, I popped a wheelie. I was about 6 years old, dad was standing on the "drawbar" of the 1951 MT his dad bought new, and he told me to let out the clutch. I sure did! lol He almost fell off, and quickly taught me the proper way to release.

Your build is well beyond neat, I enjoy glancing at the updates.

I'll also forego the Harvest event at Loring (just a week away). Without a way to put the engine under load I can't be confident of proper A/F ratio in each cylinder. On top of that, the FAST air/fuel ratio meter readings have gotten flaky.
