I put the wrong link on the 69 GTO convertible (it's a 70 Lemans convertible). Here it is:

Gosh...I LOVE the 72 TA clone and 69 vert. Where were they when I was in the market for a Poncho... could've saved me a ton of $$.

69 Grand Prix 428 CJ 99K miles with a leather interior at $28K BIN in Illinois. My favorite seats of any Pontiac, and in leather. Sweet. This is a nice car and won't last long IMO.

Great photography, salvage title will give many a pause. Also odd that it has no inner fenders.

Probably not done installing all parts after painting?

Also that doesn’t look like liberty blue, more like the charcoal blues of the mid 60’s.

I have two of them... I think they're the same as 69 Firebird 400. I didn't notice the door handle missing. Seriously, how long could that take to fix? I love the color, even if it's not stock, as this is a tribute car and that's what's awesome about them, because you can do whatever you want. If you're going to replace the interior, you might as well go with the deluxe and wood wheel, which are reproduced. i don't like all the extra Hurst and 400 emblems on the Camaro wing. It's way too busy and doesn't look factory with more bling. Engine decals suck too, but it is a nice car.

That GP air cleaner was used on 68-9 Firebird 400’s, 68 GTO, all full sized 68 Pontiacs with 428, 69 full sized Pontiac with 428 HO, 69 GP with any 428 and lastly all 68-69 350 HO’s (Firebird and A body) but in this case with a painted black lid instead of chrome.

Hope it helps! What’s surprising is how much easier it is to find dual snorkel versions than the one in question. I guess everyone and his brother switching their GTO to repro Ram Air kits has created a glut of the 69-72 dual snorkel versions.

There is also another four barrel air cleaner used in those years with no chrome lid and a longer narrower snorkel. They were used on 68-69 big car and GP 400’s as well as the 428-360 in the 69 big cars. The snorkel on these looks a lot like the one on two barrel air cleaners of the same era.

Talking cammers, ;-) I always wondered why the OHC air cleaner lids had anti-loosening ribs on the lid to keep the wingnut tight. I would have thought that an inline six would be inherently smoother than a V8, even more so with an OHC set up. Perhaps it was the fact that the carb was way off the crank center line ?
