I agree on the hard to sell now ,,, unless they are full willing to take a loss after previous BaT fees , transport from FL to CA , ice blast , 3rd party consignment with studio pictures.
I think bidders had visions of sugar plums that maybe a visit to see the ice man would bring caviar wishes and champagne dreams. The thing that disturbed me most about the Silver 74 SD Formula was the ill fitting spoiler ends. That was bad news after quarter panel replacements. I'd rather have that car - done right - than this green machine done right. |

Selling dealer is a KOOK. What a waste of everyone's time including the owner's having "Wob" represent him.
The owner/seller will never see the $70k he recently paid for this brewster green standard 455 T/A. |

All the signs point to a desperate owner .
The reserve probably still won't be less than the accumulated expenses though. They are perpetually screwed on that investment. |

What makes that neglected 1973 base Trans Am well bought at 59K? Overpaid at 70K for sure, I think overpaid by 10K this time.

After the reserve was knocked off - I think the final bids just went the extra mile to get it and be done.
It did seem like it was going to stall out in the 40's Amazing what Brewster Green does to a car these days 50-55 seemed like plenty , but they wanted it enough to open another bottle.. |

I hope the buyer wanders here with purchased PHS and is able to show it. Maybe there is something more than a TA w/AC, hood bird, custom interior, console, tilt, rear defog (C50) and rear bumperettes. Would have been nice to see if spare was original, don't know what that bar is all about.
Was the paint thickness normal? Mine is twice that. I may have to get it evaluated.

2.5-3.5 mils is around the norm on factory single stage in the 60s-70s
Most of those have been polished and finessed a bit too. Make sure you used the mil spec setting. Examine any rock chip areas behind tires for evidence of recoat. Pulling front/rear window moldings can show tattle tells of a paint edge , or paint on the clips or the urethane sealant. |

Don't attempt removing the window moldings if you aren't proficient at it.
If the rabbit ear hook nips the edge of the glass instead of going into the clip - Crack ! |
