in the summer weather do the vacuum motors close on your snorkels? I have replaced everything in my air cleaner, the vacuum hoses to the aircleaner are routed correctly, the vacuum motors tested and have 11" of vacuum to the sensor in the air cleaner and the flappers still will not close. With direct vacuum to the motors they slam shut perfectly. The sensor is new from Ames also. What am I missing?
Thanks, Mark |

My friend and I thought of a way to check the sensor in the air cleaner to see if it is operating. Since is seems that the only way this works is when the car is used in cold weather we simulated cold weather by packing the sensor with a bag of ice for about a hour and a half. With the air cleaner lid on and the element out I started the car and the flaps in the snorkels still did not close.
So, I would assume that the sensor is not working, correct? Please post your thoughts Mark |
