Eastern Arizona, Minding my own business two days ago. Getting gas in my truck at a gas station north of Springerville. In pulls this 78 Trans Am. Nice looking in progress car. Parks way away like I would to go in store. Of course when he walks by I go "Hey, 78?" He says yes, and I start blabbing about the two WS6, W72 1978's I have owned. That tripped a real nice conversation about old Birds.
I have been Poncho-less a couple years, my old 72 is now an over the top show car the new owner went next level. But getting the urge again. Resisting the money pit so far. So this guy starts talking about the museum he is working on. The hundreds of cars he has stashed in the high desert. I am going to myself, wait a minute..... this is the cat I have heard about for decades. Steve Barcak. Pontiac Heaven. I need to go visit his secret world, ha. If I get sucked back in to Poncho Bird World, it will likely be due to that dude and that cosmic encounter. He is a nice fellow and I am so remote in SW New Mexico, this was the last thing I expected. I thought he was over by Phoenix or somewhere, and now I find he is a couple hours west of me. Creates a whole new dilemna somehow. Damn It!

Steve's a very cool guy!
I think he lived in/near Phoenix and bought the property to make his museum at. Sold his place near Phoenix. (I think) Some day I would like to see his place also.

That's south by the AZ border. Awesome! I am in Apache Creek now. The Reserve valley.

I tried to get in touch with Steve in May of 2023 when I lost an axle bearing in the '67 GTO in Cortez, Colorado. No response. Ended up ordering bearings from Denver and having a local truck shop press them on. It worked out fine, just took a couple of days. I figured Steve would have a spare axle or two.

Haven't heard from Steve B in years, but he's a good guy and he has some pretty cool vintage Pontiacs, too.

I was dealing with Steve back when he worked for the USPS. Great guy! I have seen him Snow Boarding at the Bowl in AZ in JUNE before.. and drives his GTO there too!
Steve also wrote a post on here long ago that I have used to keep Temps down. ( 421 mod) . I followed up his post with pics of a 400 I did the mods on. He's always doing something, and loves his freedom, so not always easy to reach. I bought a car to restore from him back in late '99. Still have it. I need to visit that area..
