Default Basket case help

Im working on a 67 grand prix ,it has the 428,it has been a blast,but ive had trouble with the harmonic balancer,,so did the previous owner,in the trunk i found. The broke chain an gear, then it happened to me ,so i got a new chain robbed the rest of the stuff off an old bonneville an fixed it , now when i. Fire it up ialways keep an l onit,it was wobbling like hell,so i tore it back down , i took an old sleeve àn made a spanner that bolts on to the new one an rests on the cross member so i could get a real 160 foot pounds on it ,got about 150 an now the motor is spinning onme (DID i break or lose the key , an now is it out of time,whats happening

I have run across problems with used balancers. People I assume don't tighten them enough and then the keyway cracks. Finally either the snout breaks or a broken piece of the keyway gets caught between the chain and bottom gear and the chain breaks. At this point buy a new balancer.
