There is remarkably nice 67 on BAT....the seller is claiming the car retains it's original numbers matching engine.

The EUN stamping on block is only 4 characters. to match billing card. The date cast on block and intake is Dec 5. Invoice date Dec 9. Freemont build car.

I find it impossible that an engine was cast on the 5th, then assembled, then shipped two days by rail, to make it into a car that rolled of the line on the 8th or 9th?

Is this scenario even possible? Seller still claims it's original despite objections in the comments.

Unfortunately there are many things incorrect on this ‘67 besides the bogus engine block.

BTW, the old GM Plant is called FREMONT, with one E.

The most fascinating part for me is that the ad shows a GTOAA 'concours gold' award from 2013, followed by $100k of receipts of work done to the car from 2014-2018.

I know the old adage is if you're restoring a car then start with the cleanest example you can find, but this seems like it may the most extreme example of that I've seen when it comes to GTOs/Pontiacs? I know to take GTOAA judging with a grain of salt, but it's probably safe to say this didn't start out as a clapped out beater before the work in 2014 commenced. I didn't review all of the pics/comments, but was it '#'s matching" back then?

Car is a knockout with great colors, etc. Damn shame they put that stupid vacuum gauge on the console, though.

The seller is sure living up to his reputation as a used car dealer based on the few comments I read.

Bogus block stamp has tainted that car something fierce.

It is well known that the Fremont, CA assembly plant (Z) was known for its unique engine stamping practices, which can make verifying a 1967 GTO engine, which was documented and stamped in 1966, different from those built at other plants.

Fremont didn't stamp anything other than VINs, the EUN
and code were done at the Pontiac plant. The seller's fishier
than a fish market. And there's supporting documentation
from Fast Lane Classic Cars?

That pedal assembly is hilarious. I missed that. RNM. Schill bid too high too early. I still scratch my head why there are so many RNM cars on BAT. This car was above hagerty #1 value too. In my experience BAT tries to be very conservative on reserves, but apparently some dealers are allowed to set much higher

With a more civilized engine block , and an earlier intake , non-circus seller -
Probably 80-85 , just for the pretty pretty .

Post-Body with NOM and 13-14 added options is not a blue chip car.
He never verified the Carb , but I did see it had an ID disc for a 67.
It's a marked car now forever about the engine .

Whoever owns it is likely well off , but not car smart even at all.
Whoever the past judges were didn't do him any favors by not flagging the engine stamp/dates.

Tempest65 also pointed out it had a repo front bumper with no stampings.
Should have had the Gr-rrr plate like most do to hide that.

Same color/quality in a full #s HO 4spd Hardtop with no vinyl top might hit 90-100.
Turquoise / Turquoise is a hot commodity.
People pay up for the really super sharp color packages.

The 65 Hdtp that was Dk.Turq/Turq that passed through several PY members , I would have loved to had that car.

After being entertained/educated reading the entire BAT thread, I find it amusing that the revered? GTOAA calls it out as a 2 door hardtop.
