I’m in the planning stages for my turbo build and I didn’t see much info on using flipped stock manifolds. It seems like they would work. This is going in a first gen Firebird. Is there not enough clearance when in the car to make the bend off the manifold heading forward?

Idk never did it that way. I used to make a turbo kit for the first gen and some guys on here still had some unused sets. But the
logs are fine up to a certain HP

This will give you a good idea of how they Ran for the first gen

It most likely does. I have a Ventura, and it has a lot of clearance. I'm assuming that yours should be simular .. You can probably find different stock manifolds that exit on more of an angle, more like a Y configuration ..

Thank you for the pics and responses. Yes, it seems like there will be enough clearance. I’m surprised more people haven’t tried it. I update my slow progress as I go.

If I remember correctly, the driver's side manifold on a 1963 Le Mans with the 326 faces forward from the factory. That may be an option
