He has a great car in one of my favorite 66 colors. Marina Turquoise (dark)
PHS must have sent him blank option sheets , or he printed his own copies , and did his own yellow highlights. His BHC states axle code P = 3.90 But he highlighted S - 4.33 on his breakdown sheet. And campaigning 4.33 marketing strategy. His AI source is either altered - or missed by a mile - about WS engines. That is the info on XS code RA engines in 66 Those 2 hyperboles combined don't spell complete honesty. Lots of boxes with numbers in them. I'm going to do a breakdown on all those options. ![]()

376 = 37-2 + 37-4 (2+4=6). The 6 is what gets reported in the box when both options are present.
Same for all the other blanks; ie 39-7 = 39-1 + 39-2 + 39-4 (1+2+4=7) Etc I'm guessing you know that based on how your response is formatted (nicely - btw) but mine was really hard to type so I'll leave it in case others may benefit. K

It's a helluva car
Great color combo and upwards in options. I don't see the need to hyperbole about the WS engine and 3.90 axle like that. |

I talked with owner and got some more details about the car, he knows the history of the car well. The original engine, trans, shifter, rear end, ram air pan, sport steering wheel & console are all long gone. He thinks all of the other options are present. It's a had 5-6 different engines installed over the years, including several BBC. It's seen some track use, mostly street raced, right now it's a roller with a T 10 4 speed, V gate shifter and a Chevy 12 bolt rear. It comes with some replacement parts big car 389, 093 heads, replacement 66 tri power, miscellaneous brackets, pulleys etc... He also has new PUI seat covers and door panels. He wasn't sure, but he thinks he might have some parts of the TI ignition. It's a neat car, I'd like to own it, but at 30K it have to be a labor of love. If it gets cheaper I'll go check it out and post some pictures.

For the seller having a lot of information and history on the car (aside from potential misrepresentations about the 4:33) and supposedly having PHS documents, he posted a really half-assed ad on Facebook Marketplace with terrible photos. That car had interesting options but it's had an extremely hard life and is in rough shape; multiple drive trains, original long gone. It seems like some people use Facebook Marketplace hoping to lure potential buyers who will pull the trigger on impulse, thinking that they're getting something unusual. "Rare" doesn't necessarily translate into something being more valuable.

I talked with the seller again, he's firm at 30K, and still insists it's 1 of 190 built. I told him the PHS is incorrect, probably came with a 390 rear and they built lots WS cars in 66. I do believe his story about dealer installed ram air, 4:33 rear end, cam etc.. I can see that happening. Neat car, but I bailed at 23K, more if delivered. He seems to be an honest guy, he's just getting some bad information from somewhere. Anyways, he's taking it to Norwalk, hopefully I can check it out better there.

His PHS document is the gospel. It shows code P 3.90
Someone made the error of yellow highlighting 4.33 on the copied order sheet. Anyone could do that accidentally or purposely. Entirely possible the buyer had 4.33 and Ram Air installed , but if they are no longer with the car it's a moot point. The buyer also had the opportunity to have ordered it as XS with Ram Air and 4.33 from the start. But they didn't If his BHC was coded XS engine with S axle he could get 30k +plus for it easy . |
