Default 73-77 a body hood pop question

I've got a question. I've got a 77 lemans and I've heard that it was one of the first years for the 2 step hood pop with the cable inside. Is this correct. I only seem to have the hood pop in the bumper. Any idea? Is it an option? It looks like the inside one should be there any ideas.

1977 is the first year I found it on the LeMans dealer order form.
At least since 1973 the inside hood release was standard on the Grand Am, Luxury LeMans, Grand Prix and also on upscale full-size models. I'm sure it was around 1972-earlier but I don't have info on that.
If you ever spot one in a salvage yard, buy it. The plastic connector under the hood inner fender tends to be fragile.

I have a 75 (non-Luxury) LeMans that has the inside hood release. I wasn't aware it was optional. As referenced above, my 74 Grand Am and my 73 GA parts car both have the inside release.
