Default Getting back in the game

Hey all. Been some years since i last was on the sites. TAC is now gone?, 78ta too!

Anyways, PY still here thank god. Topic is this....I am getting back into the 2nd gen game and have opportunity for a 76 or an 81. Both auto. Im looking for a fun driver and my ultimate would be any of the 2nd gens with a 77/78 front nose.

I dont care obviously about numbers or anything like that.

76 is decent driver quality, no ttops, doesnt have nose i want,

81 is decent driver quality with some soft floors, comes with full floor. well running 383 in it. Has ttops. doesnt have nose i want.

Alot easier to change the 81 to earlier nose. I also want ttops (will add frame connectors and wont drive in rain)...

either choice id like to have a 4 spd or a 5 spd ...

Thoughts?Comments?

77/78 is my fave nose. Was never a fan of the 79-81 nose or tail light config.

I like the earlier tailights, like the 76. But T-tops are the bomb. 76 interior is much more classic to me. I like the earlier "bird" decals too.

But the 81 with t-tops, already running with SBC, seems to be a winner for me as a frequent driver. FB and CL are chock full of cheap SBC's if you ever trash that motor. I vote 81 as a best fit for what you described.

Soft floors... How are you with a mig?
