The reason I asked is because if it the same or greater than the Offy, you can use the SD style air cleaner. Of course that depends on the air cleaner filter gasket diameter too. But they are cool looking. I used Carter AFB’s and I have them on my dual quad.

Ok been absent for a bit but started back on the Lemans. Finished up wiring the rear lights and interior and started running the engine harness. Had a change of heart (or wallet) and decided against a roller setup, ordered a custom solid flat tappet cam from Crower which I'll post a picture of the specs. I already have a set of Hylift johnson solid lifters with the edm hole in them so the cost savings was immense versus going with a roller setup. Block and balancing should be done this month then it's all the little pieces to throw it in.

Tore into my speedmaster heads a gave it a go at porting/cleaning them up. By no stretch of the imagination are they perfect. I want to go back through and clean up the entry ports more. The bowls came out decent in my opinion and there is no rough edges or ledges. After attempting to clean them up I had a few drinks and ordered a set of ferrera valves for them, after I get those I'll run them done to my machinist for a nice valve job.

I must say, you guys who port heads for other people don't charge enough! Lol, it is not easy and while I enjoyed it and will do it again I appreciate the time it takes. And these are alum, nevermind even trying iron pigs.

Ok I went back through and cleaned up the ports and bowls. It's by no means perfect but for my first go I don't think it's too bad. It's definitely smoother transitions than from factory. It's gonna get a valve job next.

Ok it's been awhile since I've updated but I've been making progress. Please remember before criticizing me, this car is about smart money not show car perfection. Nearly every piece is old and rough shape I spent hours cleaning up. Also I didn't not disassemble this car, I bought it in buckets and it takes me sometime hours before I notice a part is missing and I go diving through the bins again. Now on with the progress.

I fumbled and cursed my way through installing the truck torsion rods. What a pain! The truck now stays open though which is a sign of luxury lol.

I got the doors hung and mostly lined up. The passenger door after adding the lower door seal sticks out about 1/8 of an inch maybe more on the trailing edge. But I'm not real concerned at this time, as they are on and make it resemble a car now.

I installed the front end to find while struggling installing the grills that the left fender is from a 67 and has a ever so slightly difference where it meets the lines of the grill support. After staring at it for a bit and looking through options I grabbed a cutoff wheel and trimmed it so it will fit. If you look you will see it and I'm sure ole timers at car shows will give me hell but I'll live. Besides the left fender isn't too great anyways so I don't feel bad about it. The front end is on and the lights and everything are installed and I can finally see the beautiful front end in all its glory. I even found 2 old T3 headlights that look good so I cleaned them up and installed them.

Next, the sway bar was hitting the springs when trying to install a larger F body one I purchased from a member on here. Some members on here noticed my springs weren't all the way seated in the buckets, so I grabbed the death device known as a spring compressor and reseated them. Next I drilled the frame and install rivnuts to mount the sway bar, I also moved them ever so slightly forward. This gave me plenty of clearance for the idler arm as well so I could stop worrying about that. I'm not sure rivnuts were the way to go but time will tell.

Looking at the stance the front is too high for my liking, I know it will settle some but still for now it bothered me. Scrounging around I found Mcbay performance and purchased one of their 1/2" rear spacers. GREAT PRODUCT! Very affordable, great quality and easy to install. Got my stance closer to what I wanted and after the front settles I think I'll be a happy camper.

Lastly I convinced myself to order some umi adjustable rear upper control arms to help with pinion angle since I'm sitting a little high. So I ordered their fancy spherical ball type bushings for the control arm side, the axle has new rubber bushings and didn't feel like replacing them right now. My thinking it by taking away all slop on one end the rubber will be fine for now, at least while it's new and hard.

Update on the engine: as posted previously I cleaned up the speedmasters and sent them to my machinist for a valve job with new Ferrea valves. Also ordered a custom crower SFT cam and matching springs. I'll post the cam specs, I'm pretty proud of it as I came up with the specs I wanted and DJ at crower liked them so found some matching lines and got to work. Still nervous about the flat tappet side but I'm sending it.

Almost forgot. I installed the vent windows in the doors but they don't meet the roof seal at all. Still trying to figure this out. If you notice anything let me know. And I can adjust lean forward/ after as it is a bit off now.

Also while digging through parts I found and cleaned up the ac parts I have and installed them before the fender got in the way.

One more one last thing. My old lead is building a 71 lemans and he decided to go with a quick performance 9 inch rear. But he pulled out a 12 bolt! And had it laying around. He offered it to me for a steal, so now I have a 12 bolt to build for down the road.
