Default Partial VIN stamping on TH400 case

Working on a TH400 for a guy's '69 GTO. I haven't much experience with what is customary and/or typical when it comes to font and such with the partial VIN stampings.

It's a high end car and I was wondering if this looks typical of other TH400 of the era. Obviously most anything can be faked, but I just haven't seen enough of these to know.

On the other hand, I can smell a faked QJet a mile away.....

I'd say yes...here's a Pontiac VIN on a '70 TH400...looks very similar with the poor spacing of the numbers.
