This morning it seems to be hauling ass …… but for how long?

This site is so important to the Pontiac community and I’d hate to lose it.

They likely have a web "farm" or a group of servers that host the content for redundancy and one or some of them have issues. So if you hit a bad server you see latency and CF errors etc.

Strangely on my work computer I get the regular web experience but on my home unit a get a very old version of the site look n feel. They are both intermittently slow tho lol.

Luckily i have nowhere to go so it provides an abundance of patience...

Not even. Site was lightning fast for a couple hours then super slow again. Blows my mind that there are lots of those BS forums all over the web operating perfectly, but not this one.

Evidently we haven't spent enough cash with our host.

I guess other forums have cash flowing like Niagara Falls

Seems like radical changes in speed like this would make the problem easy to diagnose. Not like it's some small inefficiency, it's a catastrophic malfunction.

So, is it really fixed?

Whom do we thank?

Are the owners and/or webmasters willing to get us in the loop about what was wrong and what was the cure?

Most importantly, what does the future look like for this forum?

Is there anyone committed to keeping it as an important and beneficial component of their business?

Thumbs up

Well, I complain when it's slow, so I now want to say THANK YOU for whoever mitigated the problem.

It's super-fast and thanks,
Ogre

I believe if properly maintained, this forum could be profitable. The user experience might suffer a little as more advertising is most likey the solution (money). Forum owners are leaving money/potential on the table. We are here for Pontiacs, but use the same products/services that ever other American uses. Disclaimer: I know nothing about these matters, just thinking out loud.

I just called Max Performance. Asked to speak to Eric Casperson. Although he was busy in the warehouse, I’m sure he is probably the one that resolved the issue. He is the one I spoke to about a year ago when we had a similar problem. I did leave a msg and asked him to call, if he has time. If I find out the root cause, I’ll let everyone know. In the meantime time, glad the forum is back up and running smoothly.
