Default Leaking shifter cable

Car: 63 LeMans, 326 automatic.

I recently discovered the shifter cable sheath is worn through in one small spot and it dumped a quart and a half of transmission fluid onto the floor over a few months of sitting there.

My questions:
Does anyone sell replacement cables?
Is there supposed to be transmission fluid inside the cable (I would expect it to have grease), or is there a seal at the end of the cable that also failed?

There are 2 different lengths on those cables for 63 Lemans with a 2 speed automatic transaxle.

One for cars with the shifter lever in the dash and another shorter cable if the car had a optional floor mounted center console with the shifter control inside of that.
