Let's play a little game with this one. Beautiful 70 GTO in Georgia at $70K BIN. The question is, what's it worth? Frame off - check. Numbers match - check. I think the numbers match thing is the real justification for the high price. I had a 70 GTO 4-speed when I was 16, so there's high interest for someone like me, but in all honesty, if I found a 70 Lemans GTO tribute 4-speed white with a red interior, that is the holy grail to me. The numbers matching thing doesn't mean a lot to me, and if I can eat off the undercarriage, meh. Bang for buck I guess. In this market, there are other options for $70K. Listed below.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/27779143245...Bk9SR_SLvbGbZw

What you can get for:

$55K:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/26757316142...Bk9SR86ehLKbZw

$47K:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/25735365101...Bk9SR8q4k7KbZw

For $15K more you could have this 70 4-speed Judge:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/29804506997...Bk9SR6rlwrKbZw

Looking over time would produce a few listings that are snatched up almost immediately. These are ads for cars that need to get sold, so you list at half price and it sell it asap. We'll see what the market shift towards as the sun comes out. As with all eBay adds, cash is king.

What a beautiful car. 67 Firebird 400 $48K BIN in Michigan. That interior is really something else.

I wonder why that 67 Bird has a State of Alabama issued VIN tag on it? Theft recovery?

This 62 Bonneville has been dropping slowly for the past couple months. $17K BIN in CA. Don't get me wrong, this is a nicely preserved old Pontiac, but that is what this is, an old Pontiac. I can tell you what this car feels like to drive just by looking at it... a rattly old Pontiac, and that is very cool, but not something I want. I wish the seller luck, but there's other cars out there for $17K I'd rather have, regardless of assumed value.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/11704311499...Bk9SR-b3m_WcZw

Other benchmarks:

64 Bonneville at $22K BIN in CO.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/39770590077...Bk9SR6r62PWcZw

63 Catalina 389 tri-power at $19K BIN in Florida:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/26760398221...Bk9SR4C7_vWcZw

This 61 Bonneville 389 4-speed tri-power is going to be hard to sell at $42K BIN in Texas, but I think there's a buyer for this car. It's very cool and also very rare

https://www.ebay.com/itm/25739963758...Bk9SR9j3qPacZw

I think the big cars are going to come down in value over the next 5 years, because supply will exceed demand as older owners downsize. /JMHO

very cool but I feel old and don't know what their target demo would be...

Can't blame for trying however.

That cat is great!

Agreed about the Catalina. After owning a 64 with the same color scheme this one speaks to me. But the voice of reason is speaking in the other ear lol.
And what's up with the two aftermarket antennas?

73 Firebird in Nebraska with a reserve. Would make a good base for a Trans AM clone.

Looks like a 67 to my eyes, with the vent windows on the doors, and no side marker lights.

Cars like this are too far gone IMO to bring back. May be worth some parts, but if you set out to acquire all this car needs, you'd prolly never finish and would cost 3X as much as staring with a decent base.

I'll bet a lot of us in here dreamed of building a kit car. The Cobra kit cars were cool, but many were built on Fieros. Here's an example of a dreamer that never finished the dream. 88 Fiero in Michigan at $5K BIN.

Its a nice looking Lemans, and if it sells for around the starting price it's a bargain. But it always bugs me when the engine is painted the wrong color!

72 triple black GTO in Illinois with 70K miles and a reserve. You know what sets this one apart from the others... me either. It's a GTO, which is cool. Doesn't have a fake wing, also cool. But the triple black show cars, are pretty much perfect paint cars. It's a nice car, but if I bought it, I'd change the color.

72 Luxury Lemans in Florida at $25K BIN with 47K miles. Groovy Sundance Orange color. I don't like the rear wheel covers on these cars, but that's an easy fix. I've never noticed that circular thing rear of the rear windows. Is that an add-on?
