1) Bodywork is done. This assumes it's done correctly... big if. 2) Mechanical - Is the engine/trans rebuilt? I don't think so. 3) Is it put together - No. You have to pick this up locally and in boxes. A good deal on this car would be in the low $20K area IMO. |

Good PSA for those that buy one of these cars, thinking "it'll be quick"... 1. Storage. Not only for the car, but all of the parts. 2. Missing parts are not always easy to find 3. Correct parts are even harder to find then #2 4. Nickle and dime parts add up quick 5. SOmeone else's idea of "correct" body work is sometimes much different than "correct". So many other things to consider with this.. It kills me as I would love a 70 convertible... even a clone... But this one is way too much- both pricewise and project-wise...

Going to disagree about the complete rusted out car, as the cost delta between a solid CA or AZ car is very much worth it IMO. The real catch about snagging a deal is cash. You need to have cash right now, and not in a week from now. When someone needs to sell a car, once they start getting yanked around, they'll look for another buyer. The seller of this 70 convertible probably thinks he can put it all together in a weekend... only that weekend never comes.

This one has been hanging around for a while. 69 in SC at $16K BIN. Engine looks rebuilt, but numbers don't match. Originally Gold. Hideaways a big plus.

69 GTO Judge at $92K in Las Vegas. NOM 455 and all the mods detract. If you're old enough, you remember the days when you'd buy a Car Craft magazine and see real Judges and Hemi Cudas all Pro streeted out. Not sure who the buyer is for this car, but $92K cars don't have an interior like this one.

This car was for sale last year by a private seller for about the same money, still too much but surprised that it’s not even higher at a dealership.

That's funny... I didn't even catch that. It may be an ashtray tho, so there's that. Remember those ashtrays that had a bean bag base? I bet that would be right at home next to the driver.,, and the passenger. Everyone put speakers wherever they would fit. That's the kind of stuff I did in my cars in high school. On my 70 455 GTO, I was running Crager SST's with N50/15 tires. When I would drive up curbs, the wheel wells would scrape on the tires and slice them up. The fix, Gabriel Hijackers of course, pumped up mightily. This was late 70's, and what looks so funny and abstract now, was actually considered very cool back then, especially in the Trans AM's. The late 70's and early 80's paint jobs are insane now, but then, hell yeah.
