It took some searching but I finally found an accurate V.IN. decoder for pre 1981 vins. Thought others might want this as well. On a side note- how the heck can I rotate pictures so all my attachments aren't sideways LOL!

This actually came out correct way.
Usually doing a minor edit and re-saving it makes it the correct orientation. But the board here cuts the resolution down a lot. If you have a good clear pic of it I could post it on my site and link it here. (PM me if you want)

That was going to be my comment: there is some slight variation between model years, and different format car vs truck.
They used to give the line Foreman a new card every year. We would carry them around in our shirt pocket, although don't know why. It's not like we were going to decode a particularly tricky VIN during our lunch or bathroom break. K
