Last weekend I installed new engine harness on Goldie (I bought through Ames ) and I installed stock point distributor. Harness fits good and the 215 is running and starting well.

I was going to just pull the car out to move some stuff around, decided to just go for a half hour drive since I already pulled outside.

My ‘55 still is in the upholstery shop, and when they removed the carpet, the rubber on the gas pedal pretty much fell apart. I found a nice one on Facebook, and it was waiting for me when I got home last night. Looks like it will clean up almost perfect, except for minor scuffing. It always amazes me when fellow Pontiac owners go out of their way to give great prices, or even give stuff away to fellow enthusiasts to dig up parts they need.
I hope your future is bright after your prostate surgery. My Dad is 86, he went the radiation and hormone route and has had quite a bit of trouble with his colon and other issues. I’m thinking he would have decided to go the same route as you if he had to do it all over again. Best wishes.

I actually have 3 good friends who have been through this. 1 had it removed, with no regrets. The 2 that did radiation/hormone, one of them has had complications and his PSA numbers are back up. He told me if he had to do it all over again, he would have just had it removed. That was one of the deciding factors on which way I went.

Checked progress on the bird at The House of Hotrods and things are looking better. New reproduction RAIV intake from OER had much better fitment, but one of the coolant passage sensor holes was tapped to deep and wouldn't seal. With some research we determined that the TCS sensor wasn't needed to make the engine harness work, so a nice aluminum NPT took care of the situation. All the HVAC controls work properly with an outside vacuum source, but vacuum is not getting past the canister to the switch when running off the engine. Either a bad canister or a pinched hose.

The major culprit are the front seat tracks. So we've now learned that the 1970 seat tracks are one-year only and so is the floorpan. The bottom section of 1969 tracks aren't long enough to match the holes in the floor, and the bottom section of the 1971-74 tracks are too low and the adjusters hit the floor. So they're going to take apart my originals and the new 1969 tracks and reassemble the new uppers with their bearing cages with my original lowers. I'm glad I'm not doing that one.

All should be well though to get the car into the Arlington car show on June 6th.

Moved stuff around to make room to pull the transmission from the '26, to learn why its so noisy.

Remove the AC box under the hood hasn’t worked for years.

Now I need to decide if I’m getting the AC cover delete that has a provision for a blower motor or just cover up everything with a flat plate that is also offered

My blower fan hasn’t worked in a long time probably some type of electrical issue

So are you planning on updating with something like Vintage air system? That’s what I did. Installed the flush plate and looks very nice!

Put gas in the 62 and pulled it out of the garage. Going to sell the current tri power engine in it so took some video of it running along with temp and oil pressure video. Did a little wiring on the 67 GTO and then stripped the paint of the from the glove box door to get it ready for repainting.

Installed the Retrosound head unit in my 62, maybe tomorrow I'll install the amplifier. Sounded a lot better than I thought it would, previous owner had put a Pioneer CD player in the glovebox and it was pretty weak. Got distracted trying to figure out where I'm moving the alternator so I can get the compressor installed for the upcoming AC install.

Drove the 71 down to a car meet in Setúbal. Windy and chilly.

Apple maps ran me thru every back street it could find. I could not cross the main drag as downtown was having a big bike race. Had breakfast and headed back.

One street encountered; no Darksiders here! Mirrors barely cleared.

Why yes, those are tiny garages...

Wandered around the Portland swap meet for the last 3 days picked up some goodies for the Firebird and the GTO. I also spied this rare high performance oil pan.

It wasn't fun, but the transmission is out of the '26. At least the rear end didn't need to be moved back- the U-joint comes apart, unlike many other torque tube arrangements. Not draining the tranny first was a mistake- it rolled onto its side on the floor, so I've got a huge puddle of gear oil (the top is wide open with the shifter removed).
Can't find a single thing wrong with it! That leaves just the rear end that could create the noise. Removing it should be straightforward (?).
Pulling the tranny wasn't a waste- I wanted to look at the chattering clutch anyway. The disk needs re-lining as it's down to a couple of the rivets. I'm surprised that the lining appears to be semi-metallic- perhaps added sometime during its hundred year life. I'll go to non-metallic, hoping for smoother engagement.
Now... back to cleaning up 3 or 4 pints of gear lube...

The relatively new Right Stuff master cylinder on Cole's car kicked the bucket out of nowhere so we changed that out and bled the brakes. The replacement master used the long push rod. I have never had a master cylinder use that before. I was so confident that I would never have one that used one that not too long ago I tossed two of the long rods from left over projects in the trash. Nothing Summit couldn't fix. Normally I'm the one who cracks the bleeder valve under the car, but Cole volunteered today. I did not say no.

Not Pontiac related, but when I ordered the long brake pushrod for the Venura, I bought a new set of Stewart Warner gauges for the Javelin. The index on the bottom of the oil pressure is off so it sits crooked in the bezel. That's some kwalitie kontrol for you! Can't decide if it's more annoying to send it back or just fix the slot in the bezel so I can rotate the gauge. Sheesh.
