my 67 Sport Coupe trim is getting tired

Looking for a reputable place to strip,polish recoat

Why not just strip it yourself and then periodically polish it. It's been working for me for years.

Is there some non-mechanical way to strip anodizing away?

Anodize can be stripped off with Easy-off oven cleaner.

what polish do you use? any swirls show up?
Ive thought about doing that and using Cerakote

so what process do you do today?

I have to look in the trunk and see what polish I'm using....but no swirls. I do try not to touch the aluminum and that certainly helps extend polish intervals.

When I had the Beltline moldings refurbished on the '66 back in the 90s They had removed all the anodizing, repaired, polished, and then applied a clear coat.

The clear started lifting within a few years, so I polished it all off.
Since then all I do is use Wadding Polish.

I too have been doing this for years and the moldings still look great.

On the post cars the vertical piece of trim for the rear window post has a metal clip in the trim. I couldn't see a way to remove that clip that wasn't going to be destructive to the trim. I decided at that point it would be easier to just polish it all.

I hadnt thought about removal of those clips,good advise

I missed the clips too and when I brought my trim to the place to have everything reanodized they noticed the clips. They said if they had gone ahead with the clips in place it would have ruined their equipment. Thus the decision to take everything home and polish it all myself. Saved money but definitely didn't save time....I spent about 70 hrs picking and filing and straightening(this doesn't include removing the entire interior to get at all of the trim). Then 80 grit(on the worst parts) all the way to 2500 then polishing after not being able to get the pieces anodized. In the end well worth it.
