I have a 67 LeMans that is a factory AC car. This system had not been working for many years. I installed a new parallel flow condenser and the Pro6ten compressor. The pro6ten compressor is a direct bolt on replacement for the factory A6 compressor but it's much lighter, more efficient and much less drag on the motor too. Same as the condenser a direct bolt in and more efficient. I installed a new drier and had a new line made from the muffler coming off the compressor to the new condenser. I had the system evacuated and serviced with 134a and it works very nice cools better than factory. It retains the factory look except for the Pro6ten compressor does not look exactly like the factory A6. So for a show car you need to use the A6.

I did not need to replace the POA valve or the expansion valve and didn't need to do anything else. The factory parts may not be the most modern and most efficient but engineered well to last a very long time.

Was your POA valve recalibrated for the r134?
