I have one of these set ups in my drawer with the Chinese or Mexican (can’t remember which) lifters but also bought a set of Comp Evolutions in case I chicken out in the end when my build is ready to go. I’d love to see more feedback from folks running them as well.

Yes, the lack of the lifter availability has slowed the project.

I “think” most of the folks interested in the bones have bought them. I was selling 10 sets a week the first month. Then 10 sets a month for the next few months, then it was down to one set a month, now I haven’t had but 2 folks reach out in the last 6 months.

The cost of materials had doubled before the “Iran war”. I haven’t even checked lately. So with this it is no longer an economical way to go.

The next big blow, the machine shop I was using has went out of business.

Last thoughts, I haven’t had anyone contact me with an issue, I feel no news is good news.

If we can find a reasonable priced great quality lifter, I may look into resurrecting the project.

Does anyone have the two measurements in this picture?

The Comp Cams SBF dog bones have 5/32" clearance from the bottom to the lip that rides on the lifter flats. My HT2148 lifters raised the unmachined portion ~1/8", like JC455/Crawdaddy had measured on page 11, giving me 1/32" clearance. No movement on my unmodified dog bones so looks like my set up will work.

For my project, I wanted to do exactly what Jim originally had done. Other steps kind of negated the purpose of the SBF spider retrofit to begin with and might as well go with the link-bars for all the additional hassle.

Is anyone tacking the two separate sections of the spider together to stop any potential twisting? This would be an area of concern for me.
