Swapped out the headliner and rear package tray on the '65 2+2. I forgot that the tacking strips on a 61 year old car apparently evaporate at year 50. Still have to put the sail panels in and put the trim back up. Maybe next week.

Got the gauges installed in the console after running a new line thru the firewall and unplugged the AC wiring under the dash so It could remove the wiring under hood.

Had to remove the console to accomplish this.

Took the '72 Trans Am on a 20 car poker run yesterday in the rain. Was about a 170 mile round trip run up into the foothills.

For the first time in several years, starting to care about the '68 Firebird again. Today, with limited physical abilities (healing knee replacements), I started searching for the source of smoke rising from the back of the right side inner fender area. It occurs once warmed up and lasts until whatever it is finishes burning off. So far, I still don't know the source even after a couple hours of looking around the area with an endoscope. With a 400HO w/longbranch manifolds, TH400, and AC blocking access, I have not found the leak, that I assume has to burn off the exhaust system. I know it's minor because there's not a drop of anything on the garage floor in the area of the smoke after sitting for years.

I’ll bet you’ve got some leakage in the oil filter mounting bracket, or perhaps the pressure sending unit. Good luck to you on finding the source!

Ironically, I was just digging around there myself on mine today… that’s why I thought of it. After installing the Doug’s Headers, I cannot get the standard sized oil filter in there, so trying to decide which route to go to be able to get this car fired up again!

Thanks! I'll check that. I have the factory original oil filter mounting and the RA/HO Longbranch adapter with the multiple gaskets to angle the filter. (Never touched since the factory assembled it.)

Put in a functional windscreen washer setup on the 71. Of the dozen GM cars I had that used this wiper pump setup, I think maybe one actually worked correctly.

I used a below tank pump (self priming) from a 1975-79 Firebird supplied by this forum's sponsor. It works quite well.

This can also be used on a stock reservoir if a 9/16" hole is drilled in the bottom. A 9/16-12 nut with sealant mounts the pump. Power can be run to the pump, and the washer switch grounding feed is used to trigger operation. You may need to adapt hose size.
