Butler has their water pump on sale, but it has no reviews on their site. Anyone got any input on the quality? I have my old one off currently and it's at least 5yrs old so figure I'd replace it and the divider plate.

I've changed the way I think about replacing known good parts. With today's QC issues if I know a part was functioning properly and there isn't a reason to replace it I usually roll with it. In particular a water pump. I've cleaned up a few and re-used them. Five years isn't that long for a part that's expected to last 100k miles.... Unless it has close to that much use I'd probably clean and reuse.
Not long ago I went through four new, very expensive water pumps until I finally got the version that didn't leak. Had a similar deal with an alternator. I have no experience with the Butler water pump. |

The CVF has no reviews either.............

Careful! That high flow might cause the coolant to spend less time in the radiator, and make an overheat situation!
Know that I am just kidding! ![]() ![]() Mo flo = Mo betta. I looked at those briefly last year. They look nice.

For best result at long idle, highway cruise, and accelerations;try to keep pump and fan speeds coordinated.
Simply; Factory pully ratios were likely optimal ( for some models). Seek 428, 455 HO ratios. Complexity: low drag fans are desired to alleviate belts and water pump loads, so how to. Achieve idle and highway sync? Remained a challenge. I start with the 6" crank pulley. |

6” crank pulley? Even the smaller AC water pump pulleys are 6.5”. A underdrive will be more likely to run hotter in long idle stop and go.
