I was looking at my assembly manual of the shaker exploded diagram, it shows part # 481341 (stud), 148312 (nut), & 121753 (LK. Washer). I have what I believe to be the correct black color folded wing nut. The stud I have measures 2 3/4 inches long black in color. It seems to be 1/8 to 1/4 inch too short. I do not have the lock washer referenced. Does anyone have the correct carb stud measurement for shaker application? Any pictures of your carb studs, lock washer, and or wing nuts would be appreciated. Also if anyone has a spare carb stud or Lock washer they would want to part with.

Just to close out the thread I found what I think is the right size air cleaner to carb stud for shaker………. it’s 3 inch in length…. my initial one was from inline tube (measures 2 3/4”) I found a correct (black oxide) looking one measuring 3” from MSC Industrial direct they list it as: 1/4-20X3" TH .38X1.5 GIBRALTAR DRIVER STUD under part#86776291. The shorter stud was able to work but i could not bottom the stud in the carb, and the wing nut only caught a few threads at top. as you can see from pictures i think the 3” fit perfect.

Does anyone have a source for a replacement TA air cleaner domed lock washer (fits underneath the wing nut). The domed washer gives the snug fit to stop any vibration between the lid and the stud.
I’ve tried the usual suspects with no luck… gm part number is 121753 according to my shop manual but Google advises something different. I don’t need nos or even genuine parts, just a replacement Thanks! |

Looks like a belleville spring?
Probably could get something from McMasre-Carr that would work. Or even the parts store might have something in the bolts/nuts cabinet.

Good shout - thanks
It is kinda like that - but a casting originally as the done is filled up like a full bowl of pasta That gives the wing nut a flat surface to torque up to |
