Rest in peace now Mr Pete McCarthy knowing you brought knowledge and happiness to many. It's very evident.
As for the other guy, I guess if you don't bow down to Bruce Almighty you're obviously a demon is his skewed mind.

I bought his books in high school, senior year. Bought several copies at Norwalk a few years ago just to have pristine copies. In my garage in big letters toward the ceiling is WWPMD. What would Pete McCarthy do? May God rest his soul.

Very sad news. Pete was a great guy. Many years ago my brother and I visited SMS to pick up his freshly rebuilt 455 HO and Pete showed us some of his techniques when porting heads. He was working on a set of 980 Super Duty heads if I remember correctly.

Met Pete back in 1995 . Hungout with Brad Urban, JD Minnick, Pete and Craig Fiorre. Later that night I went to his house where he showed me his office and then he ordered pizza and we watched videos of the Verdoro Green Firebird.

Was at a hotel in Dallas one year. Pete invited me to his/their room. I went to take a leak. The bathtub was full to the top with beer/ice. Huge ice chest,i thought.I said to myself, damn. Don`t know if Pete was partaking or not.

A good friend of mine, who is a Pontiac lifer, like me, but older (he graduated high school in 1968, me 1977). He bought a new 68 GTO, stripper model. Verdero green. RA3 engine (I don't know if that was what it officially was called, then, though...) had 3 speed Dearborn trans, essentially no other options. He performed all the tuning modifications he learned from Pete and others. His GTO couldn't out run everything on the street, but ran way, way better than many of his competitors would have ever guessed, after he out ran them...

My thoughts are w Jane & Pete's extended family.

Felt very fortunate to first meet Pete in the late 80's, then sit & converse with him for a good 45 mins in Santa Clara at the '91 POCI Western Regional..
At the time, my bride of only a few days was fairly receptive to us making that Pontiac show.
