I don't think it's a smog pump. I have no idea.

67 Grand Prix convertible in Florida at $33K BIN. Very sharp car. I used to detail cars when I was 17, and part of it was p[ainting the engine. If you've never done it, it's easier than you think. If you zoom in on the exhaust manifold, you can see blue paint on it. Blue paint doesn't live long on an exhaust manifold, but it does for a short while. Nothing against the car and I realize I could be 100% wrong. I'd love to drive this car.

Beautiful car! Odd to see a GP with no A/C.

A friend of mine went to see in person that 69 Silver-red GP a year or two ago when it was for sale locally. Looked like a very solid car especially for a canadian car. It had a propane dual fuel system, that pump probably had something to do with that. Apparently the OO was a bit of a wingnut. BTW, the seats are not factory, the car should have the standard knitted vinyl seat style but these were reupholstered to look like the optional red leather seat style (leather interior was never offered in red), I see they also added carpeting to the seat backs, ala Eldorado I guess/

On the 69 Grand Prix the custom leather interior was offered in black, gold and green. You could also get leather on the 69 Bonneville Brougham but convertible only and only in gold and black. Leather was also offered on the 69 Firebird but only in gold.

The GP's (as well as the GTO and Firebirds) that were sold in Canada were all US made and identical to those sold in the US. The Commanche was just a dealer dress up done by a dealer in canada, they ordered the Firebirds with specific factory options including the leather interior and then they painted them up a bit and added things like aftermarket fog lamps and chromed the factory non-RA hood scoops.
The Canadian built and sold fullsized models (parisienne etc) were just chevy impala chassis, drivetrain and interiors with Pontiac looking bodies. They sold really well (about double the market share of US big Pontiacs) because they were much cheaper thanks to standard six cylinder engines etc. They also built in Canada a midsized car called the Beaumont which was just a Chevelle with slightly different grills, tail bezels and a LeMans dashpad. Unlike the big Canadian Pontiacs the Beaumont used all chevy sheetmetal. Similarly, they also made a car called Acadian which was just a Nova with even less unique parts. The beginning of badge engineering.

70 Grand Prix Model J with a reserve in San Francisco. Refreshing to see a car like this without those damn BS XXX4 air cleaner decals.

64 GTO 4-speed convertible "recreation" in Florida with a reserve. Nice car in resale red (could have picked any color to go with the red interior). The wheels look good in some pics, and in others (side view) makes the car seem smaller to me. Nice car and that four spoke steering wheel is real (Homer drool).

71 Firebird 400 project in Georgia for $9500, but that's not the interesting part to me. Check out the wagon with the GTO nose behind it. Those wagons painted Pepper green with Judge stripes look very cool. The car runs and drives.

Was that bucket seat interior standard or an option in a 68 LeMans?
70 required the "Sport" for that... so just curious. Similar questions about the "T" shifter handle and steering wheel. Were those both standard or options in a 68 LeMans? |
