67 gp cloth seat
One of my 67's has cloth seating surfaces. Was this a low-cost option? The car is otherwise loaded. Haven't seen them around much. Anyone know what percentage went out the door with those?

Problem is there aren't any breakouts for most Pontiacs by interior cloth trim. So at best you'd be guessing...

There doesn't seem to be any seat cover replacements for these available in reproduction. Lead me to think it was an undesireable, seldom-ordered, low-cost option.. any of you have these seats in your cars?

The factory brochure indicates it was a no cost option, you could choose either one but obviously vinyl was much more common. http://www.oldcarbrochures.com/stati...rix-06-07.html I know they did this for several years, 1965 had the same choice of vinyl or cloth.

Ben, by "no breakouts", does that mean the build sheet wouldn't indicate that option?

Breakout or breakdown refers to the production figures - for big Pontiacs, you can usually find out how many were built in total for a given model, but finding out how many were built with a particular option (like how many came with a particular engine option or painted a particular color, or in this case cloth seats) is generally not possible.

I can only recall seeing one or two GPs with cloth seats, but I haven't made any formal study.
 So, I don't know if they qualify as rare but they're certainly uncommon.

Sorry to open an old thread but I may have one of those cloth GP's. The Trim code is 585 which should be a parchment vinyl which the seats are primarily, however the center seating area is a patterned multi-colored cloth (mostly gold with brown and turquoise mixed in). The build sheet shows K5 for the color which I interpret for the convertible top color, not the interior (though the dash pad is also turquoise). The PHS doesn't say anything else with respect to how the car was ordered regarding cloth inserts and wondering whether there is any other source to verify whether the cloth is in fact factory original?
