regrettably didn't locate any tack strips for the current '66 in the shop.
Since the car came stripped it's likely we'll also need them.

I installed my tacking strip from www.bobdrake.com. I used the 3/16 x ½ strip and trimmed with a razor scrapper to make it fit within the metal strip grove. I then used 3M Weather Strip Adhesive to glue (dries really strong) the strip to the metal strip and clamps to force it into the metal grove. I may fabricate a 2nd strip and install beneath the original.
May be a week or two before I restart the headliner/sail panel install.

Here’s my 2nd attempt at installing the headliner/sail panels; doesn’t look much better than the 1st. It looks very amateur in the back section. I spent hours trying to get the wrinkles out. The pic's of the front headliner are hard to see.

This is the best I can do and I’m going with it. I want my ground-up resto done by years end.

I dont know if this will help anyone as this original post was 8 years ago, but some of us are revisiting this issue.
I am unable to locate new or repop Headliner Tack Strips too.
I thought I would post the pictures with the measurements of the tack strip and the end showing the material slid inside.
I will order new material for mine from https://jjautofabrics.com/tack-strip...ontinuous-yard, 0nly $6.10 a yard
I will gut the metal channel and put the new material in.
