Does anyone recognize this fuel pump.? It kinda looks like the RobMc 550 pump. It has the number 40680 and 4611 engraved on the side. No name on it. It only has an inlet and outlet port an the brass fitting. Thanks

I have a RobbMC 550 on my firebird and it looks exactly like that one.

Thank you both. So this pump is only used as a dead head pump? Do you guys have any issues if your both using it as dead head? I guess there is no way to use it with a return as it only puts out 7 psi. Looks like RobMc 1100 h/p pump is used with a regulator and return. Dam. Need to sell this one or upgrade it. Thanks guys.

Just found the other part of the equation in a box of parts this morning. This look to be the RobMc fuel pickup. For those of you who have this unit, are you just using compressing fittings to connect the supply and return? Thanks

Thats an older robbmc pump with the outlet on the underside, i have the same era but an 1100 model on my 467. Has been ran deadhead for 10+ years with no issues related to being set up deadhead. The 1100 can be dialed down to ~7psi just like the 550 or be turned up to 14psi with much better gph.

On the street it runs perfect, no vapor lock, no starvation etc, but for dragstrip use with drag radials & a good prepped track, it will have starvation issues on real good runs/60ft at 11.2-11.3 using a q-jet carb that is much harder to keep the single bowl full vs a holley. I have only turned it up to about 10psi so there is more left in it but need a good regulator.

I have the 1/2" pickup too, they offer AN fittings on the ends but copression will work too, i just have a short piece of 1/2" rubber line from the tank outlet to the 1/2" hard line but use all AN fittings at the inlet & outlet & carb inlet with -8 braided line.

When I talked with Robbmc about a return they said they dont usually advise that since a mech pump cant keep up with a full return system like a electric pump can, they offer a vapor return like OEM pumps to help with vapor lock etc... but for street use they work fine on a 500+hp stroker and actually do very well at the dragstrip into low 11's.

Just bought one, that's the new 550 HP version. I run it with 6AN line back to a stock type pickup. I had to install a deadhead regulator set to 5.5 PSI, as it was occasionally blowing through the float needles on my 4150. It pulses up to 7 PSI and my QF didn't like that. Its rated for ethanol, so that's nice too.

It works so well, I've had to jet the carb down. I'm assuming the cheapo pump it replaced couldn't keep up near WOT and the bowl levels were falling.
