Car Show Continued: A few Third Gen cars were there as well, with one in full "Kit" makeup. A couple of early GTOs showed too. All in all, a good group in about 150 cars that were there. June 6th is the big one in downtown Arlington, TX.

Default 6 2's

Well, if three 2 barrels are good (TriPower), then six should be outstanding, right?

This is a real Pontiac "Six-Pack".
Wieand Drag Star.

For those in the know- it's a 1955-60 intake.
Rather than modify it for late model heads- it's going on top of a 1959 389.

Won't be the first time I've built a whole new car around a set of carburetors.
(then replaced the carburetors).

Not sure what the body style the engine will go into just yet. TBD.
An early coupe, no hood. And some body lines & tail lights that appeal to me.
That's all I have for a concept so far.

Default BugCatcher

Fabricated some prototype actuation linkage for the Bug Catcher, and a throttle return.
Works great.

The mockup 3D Printed Bracket will be replaced by 4" 6061 Angle as soon as I get done machining it- and the temporary 12" 1/4" steel rod will be replaced with SS & Heims.

The temporary Weber 4" 5mm Heim linkage will also be replaced with 1/4" SS & Heims as well, soon as those parts arrive.

Replaced the 3D Printed Bellcrank yesterday- with one from Ron's FI that arrived yesterday.

Replaced the repro 1/4 panel GTO decals with a set of NOS decals. Big difference in the weight and crispness of the letters! NOS on the bottom.

I've been watching the Poverty Tour - looks like a lot of fun. Last year Dalton ran the Poverty Tour to Arizona for Duct Tape. It's cool to see it grow into it's own thing. It's getting me excited to get the Javelin on the road.

Spent Saturday reinstalling a freshened up headliner in the Ventura then cleaning up and doing a health check on the GTO. I ordered headliner material for the Ventura from SMS about a year and a half ago...still MIA . I busted out the Krylon Satin Italian Olive again. Sounds like a bad idea, but it actually looks pretty decent if you later it on in thin coats.

GTO is doing well, everything under the valve covers looks like the way I left it. I have been chasing a drooping passenger side headlight door which is driving me nuts. Adjusted the spring tension, arm to door position, replaced a check valve, 1/2 the vacuum lines, a vacuum actuator and the headlight switch and it still sags when the car is off. This is new since it got back from the body shop. I have no idea what could have happened but it's annoying. Got it working well enough to attend a show on Sunday with Cole.

Started bleeding the brakes on my 67 GTO. Car has been sitting for several years now so I used a pressure bleeder and found multiple leaks. Fixed all but one.....at the front distribution block which will require removal of the booster, master cyl. to get to. Ugh.

Finished fabricating my one off throttle cable for my dual quad setup. Required cutting, fitting and creating a new end with solder. Ended up being about 6” shorter that when I bought it in order to fit my dual quad setup.

And here it is installed. You can see how the bracket is moved rearward. Still tried to go for a stock type look.

FINALLY got the ‘55 Catalina out of upholstery jail today! It was done a few weeks ago, but between my schedule and all the rain we’ve had, this was the first chance I’ve had to run down to Illinois to get it picked up.
Hope the link works. I took a short video.

It was trim day on the 2+2. Cleaned two different colors of paint off of some ebay beltline moldings and buffed them out. Had fun getting to all of the backsides of the clips to get nuts on them. Stripped, painted, and installed the rear seat fill panels to match the original Blue Charcoal. re-stretched the headliner and put the A-pillar and windshield trim in.
Next is the sail panels and rear window moldings. I looked at what it will take to replace some rear seat bottom springs, but the frame is too far gone.

Nice day for a change here in SW Wisconsin. I was itching to drive so I took the ‘55 and my son took his ‘71 to grab a bite to eat in a town about 25 miles away.
Called my engine guy today too. Dropping my 400 off next weekend for him to deal with and assemble. My wife wants me to get the ‘63 running again so she can have her own car to run around in. Yeah, I have kinda been dragging my feet on that one.

Bled the brakes on my '64 and slapped the new rubber on.

Next: replace broken accel linkage and get ready to drop the 389 back in.
