Default Throttle cable needed - OEM preferred - 1971 TA

Hello PY. My throttle cable packed it in on my '71 TA. Does anyone have a nice OEM for sale? I think 71-74 4BBL F-bodies are all the same maybe?

I bought a repop and it is straight up junk. Too short and attempts to "modify" have rendered it to the garbage pile.

Need the ball socket end for the carb.

** I realize this is the performance section, though I might get more visibility here **

Thanks.

Travis.

Can you post a pic of your old one alongside a tape measure? I have a box full of OEM throttle and kickdown cables; however, they're not all marked. Thanks, Bob.

Uhm I think I bought a cable from The Parts Place or Firebird Central and it worked perfectly -- but style of plastic snap in end or something was slightly different looking than oem but otherwise length and attaching points all the same.

FYI Firebird throttle cable P/N with 4 barrel carb:
1970 480896
1971 482736
1972-73 545616
1974 1244144

Not all the same but may be similar? Numbers from July 1973 MPC. There may have been supersessions in future years if the cables are similar or the same

Thank you for this detail. The one I bought from the parts place was too short and would hang the throttle a little at idle. I am going to try the one from OER, if that fails might just have to make one from a Lokar kit or equivalent.

Here is what I am going to try. Cable is still intact and works well, just the sheath failed around it. I suspect this will work, from here will remove zip ties and use some wire to neaten it up some.
