Default beehive springs

whos used them?
this would be another solution to the interference of retainer and follower

Gary when I built the 301 25+ years ago I used Chevy V8 LS Beehive springs. I think I still have the extra ones in a box somewhere. If I remember correctly we had to cut the spring pockets on the 1bbl head to use them.

I wanted to run beehives, but did not find a set with the right spring height. I didn't look at cutting the spring pocket. I acquired an assembled head with them on it, but it also has longer valve stems on them so cannot be ran with a stock cam. I forget the measurement of the stem height, so not even sure it can be ran with a re-ground. I don't have numbers on the springs or valves.
