When PY Boards was started it I believe a java script bulletin board, then it evolved to a more modern board, that was over 25 years ago.
In the very early days, there were plenty of us that throw up our names & numbers on posts, then came the new modern board with a PM box.
At one time, one could even upgrade the capacity of ones PM box. Id pay for that convenience today. Agree with several members above, NOT having
PM notifications makes it difficult in an increasingly busy world to manage communications.

Cost of maintaining the PY Board....

Am sure there are longtime members that provided a slightly upgraded Forum, would be more than happy to contribute financially. On the other hand as the "same ol same ol" not sure many could agree with that.
Surveying other Specialty automotive Forums, one only has to check out Yenko.Net to view an Automotive Forum with many sponsors, & may I say considerable more respect by members for their fellow membership.

One item noticed over on, say, the Yenko Forums, is a required once a year paid membership for those posting ads, along with restrictions on how many ads.
Desire to post more ads, like a bump of the same stuff every morning, the opportunity is there to have a vendor sponsorship.

Am not a member on the Yenko Forums, like quite a few here on PY, but the one thing any of us can see over on Yenko is a SENSE OF ORDER.
None of past shenanigans we've seen on PY, or for one issue today, the onslaught of listings of web browsing of all type of Pontiacs for sale in one TECH forum, the '67-69 Firebird Forum.
In THE LOBBY, where several post similar threads, or in a specific forum for Vehicles spotted on Craigs, Fakebook, eBay, not a big deal.

Am throwing up ideas here. As the status quo has been allowed for a long time, am however. back to copying & pasting threads to save
that will continue to help me in my own restorations.

About Us

The PY Online Forums is the largest online gathering of Pontiac enthusiasts anywhere in the world. Founded in 1991, it was also the first online forum for people to gather and talk about their Pontiacs. Since then, it has become the mecca of Pontiac technical data and knowledge that no other place can surpass.
