Always good to take a picture of parts before you send them out for any sort of service. Couldn't understand why the front speaker just would not fit (after cramming my fat ass under the dash). The bracket was reinstalled backwards. Turned that around and..........bingo!

While I was waiting for a transporter to show up yesterday, I started cleaning the original brake hoses from the car. The blue paint on the rear hose is an interesting detail. Anyone ever see that before?

I found a couple more original parts for the 71 as of recent. An original set of rear shocks, and NOS air filter. I also recently bought a new camera so I was getting familiar with it today...........so I snapped a few pics of the car.

Such a cool car and after looking at the floors suspension parts etc it kind looks like the condition of my car kinda makes me want to leave it alone rather than restore. After all it’s only original once.

This thread has been largely dormant since 2021. It was in 2022 that Bob Krug bought the car from me. Bob always told me he would sell the car back to me when he was done with it. Sadly (as many of you know) Bob passed earlier this year. I've been busy in my shop with some other Corvette projects, so the TA has been patiently waiting for some quality time.

Since getting the car back, I've changed out all of the fluids once again. I also took the liberty of having a license plate made to replicate Wayne's original plate. The only thing left on my short list for the car, was to change out the throw out bearing. I was a bit noisier than I cared for. I got that job finished up yesterday afternoon, shot a few pics this morning, and felt it was time to update this thread. The car is now showing 20,369 miles




I also saved the last oil filter Bob installed on the TA. He was a tremendous caretaker for this car and got the car to another level yet. Bob passed far too soon. R.I.P Bob

As pictured in my posts from back in 2020, I had Fred Ballard rebuild the original fuel pump, White Post rebuilt the original proportioning valve, wheel cylinders, and master cylinder. I reinstalled all of that along with the original brake hoses, radiator hoses, and correct reproduction belts.

The next thing on my list is to clean the chassis and engine compartment again. I've learned some new techniques and found a couple of different products for that type of work. When I tackle that, I am going to revisit the evap hoses. I recall the thread when Bent Wheel Bob restored the black 72 Formula, he documented his work on replicating the ink stamps on the rubber evap hoses.

I feel a need to give a shout out to Chris Eagle. Your work has stood the test of time. Certainly, this was a good car to start with. Chris, your eye for detail and patience to get the job done correctly is reflected on how the car runs and drives.

Thanks for the shout out. The car is looking good. It had 16750 miles when I got it and I always drive my cars, so I'm glad it's still being driven. I was sorry to hear about Bob passing away, but I know he really enjoyed the car.
