I have been having some issues with my "fuel pump"! Seems like one or more of the lines might be blocked. But, all tests are coming back negative. My cardiologist is going to do a CT scan on the 24th and we will go from there. I am now on 3 blood pressure meds but still having spikes, mostly around 7-8 pm. I can work in my shop all afternoon without a problem. It may be stable angina.
Sorry for the rambling, but has anyone else here experienced this? I guess I shouldn't complain too much. After all, it is a 1950 model and has never been rebuilt.

What are your symptoms for a blocked line?


Hopefully they will get it fixed.

Getting old ain't for the weak.
Have Atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat)
Had a pacemaker installed 2yrs. a go, it's a 2wire, may have to have 3rd wire installed into other chamber because it's not pumping well. Never thought I'd see 74 and have not had any major problems till 70. Grateful to still be kicking as I have lost most or all of my longtime friends including my wife.
A good cardiologist makes all the difference. Mine just happens to be a woman and she's a doll.

I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. After the wifes sudden passing then the lymphoma and recently my 21 yr cat Sneakers passing I get tired alot,grief. I use to be very active. Swimming 3 miles a week under 32 minutes each. Working building my 30x60 garage myself.Now weight gain I'm lazy. God Bless

About the same time every evening my blood pressure goes up anywhere from 150/75 to a high last week of 190/85. Pain in my upper chest sometimes radiating to both arms and my jaw. It lasts about 5 minutes

When I say work, I don't mean hard labor. I am currently running a supply and drain line for a sink installation in my shop and I get on my riding mower for a couple hours a day. I even walked and sprayed weed killer for about 30 minutes.
When i am in the sop I take frequent breaks.

Been going to the cardiologist for 20years for a very lite mitral valve concern. Doctor is a car/cycle guy. We talks cars a lot! Anyway in all those years he told me if I feel anything strange to let him know immediately. Almost a year ago I felt a little pain starting from my upper back and coming around across my chest. ended up having a cardiac catheterization done. No blockage was found and the pain went away in about a week. My next visit doctor was very happy I spoke up and didn't just brush it off. SO speak up to your doctors! Good luck.

I spent two days in the hospital about a month ago for chest pains. All my tests came back normal.

I'd have them do a heart cath?

I spent 2 days in ER/hospital also and came back with no problems a few years ago. But if it wasn't for my sister-in-law (who's a nurse at the hospital) got a heart dr. to talk to us. They ran me down the hallways and did a heart cath and they found 3 very clogged arteries. They stented 2 arteries and ballooned one. (if they did more than 2 stents they would have to do open heart surgery)
They told my wife I was || that close to a 'widow maker' heart attack.

I've had a couple more added since and going for another test in a couple weeks.

But I'm still above ground!

Absolutely weird they haven't explored more.

My doctor recommended a "Calcium CT" as a simple preventive checkup. They scan your chest for calcium traces which are an indicator of blockages. Insurance doesn't cover it yet. It was customer pay....only $99! When insurance starts covering it, it will probably jump to $1000. Anyway, it took all of 10 minutes, no need to undress. My score came back zero! It also can detect chest nodules, which can be an indicator of cancers.

An 'Echo' scan will usually tell in detail how the heart and valves are functioning and usually the 1st test given to diagnose heart issues.
Ask for one.

When I was in the hospital they ran an ecg, ekg and a chemical stress test plus they took blood every 8 hours. All those tests came back normal.
Today, after lunch I went out to my shop and finished mocking up the supply line for the sink. Then I went back and cleaned all the joints and glued them together I also glued the drain line that I mocked up yesterday. I was down on my knees under the counter doing this plus getting up and back down to fit the piping..
After supper I went back out and dug a ditch a spare's width and depth 20 feet long. I did not have any problems.
Then I went back in the shop, sat in my chair and drank a Powerade while I brushed my cat. After sitting for about 30 minutes I shut the shop and started to walk the 100 or so feet to my house. Halfway there I had a "session". When I got to my chair I checked my BP and it was 177/89. 5 minutes later it was 140/74 and 15 minutes after it was 126/66.
The only thing I do at supper is to take a Flowmax pill 30 minutes after eating. I cheched side effects for it and chest pains or elevated blood pressure are not associated with this medicine.

I am still here. My cardiologist ordered a heart cath test when I first went to see him, but insurance denied it because all my earlier tests came back normal. So he ordered the CT scan in hopes that it will show something that may require the catheter. I know I am tired of not being able to do what I want or need to. I go fro the CT scan this Wednesday morning. Hopefully I will get the results shortly after.

BTW; they all deny any procedure, happens every time my Cardiologist puts an order in.
She told me that she has a separate team that deals with that BS. She said if she had to that it would be all she would be doing everyday.
I've had a pacemaker and a watchman installed.
Have had a total of 5 procedures done in the last 4 yrs. 1 to shock my heart to get back into a regular rhythm. Worked but went back into afib in 3months, 1 to see if I was a good candidate for a watchman. https://www.watchman.com/en-us/home.html
I've actually not had any issues with surgery's and in fact the drug Propofol that they use to put you out is kinda cool.lol
Your out and wack up with no after effects .
Like I said get a doctor that knows how to get the needed procedures threw insurance.

I went to the ER per my family doctors order for chest pain. Spent two days in the hospital and all tests came back normal.
Then I went to a cardiologist for a follow up and told him my symptoms including chest pain that radiated to both arms and my jaw at times. I don't have the radiating pain every time.
He ordered the catheterization (?) but insurance denied it because all my tests came back normal. Doctor appealed it and was denied again. So, he ordered the CT scan as a step to getting the cath test.
I am on Medicare with Aetna and they have always been fair with me.
I will see what happens Wednesday when I get the CT scan.

You were still in hospital/ER when they denied it?
I had that problem on the second set of stents put in.
I had the back pressure again and the insurance wouldn't authorize it until all other tests done, stress, echo, nuclear CT, etc. I 'volunteered' for the heart cath. Went in and found 2 more arteries about blocked off.

I have always wanted to NOT have a heart attack, which kills part of the heart. My heart is very good it's the arteries supplying it that are bad.
My aorta is good and others are good. (bigger ones)

Two years ago I had the jaw and chest pain and almost didn't go to the E.R. You know typical man just work through it lol. Then I decided I better go just to be on the safe side. I walked in went to check in and told them I THINK I'm having a heart attack, the nurse gets out of his seat takes me in hooks me up for an EKG and they draw some blood and tested it and it show signs of a heart attack. I was admitted on a Saturday and that following Monday I had a stent put in, they found one with a 90% blockage and one with a 50% blockage. I can't say enough good things about the cardiac team @ Balboa Naval Hospital. They couldn't believe I drove past two other hospitals to get there. Don't be macho and ignore chest or jaw pain.

I was not in the hospital when the test was denied. I was at my cardiologist's office for the follow up visit when it was ordered.
I had my CT scan with dye contrast done this morning, but won't get the results for a couple weeks!. I was also given a nitroglycerine tablet to open my blood vessels. After the test I felt better than I have in a long time, but I got over it in a couple hours.
I have fast acting nitroglycerine tablets, but they take a few minutes to act. If I don't do anything the problem goes away in 5-10 minutes.

If the nitro pill helps, I was always told it is heart/artery problem.
My arteries were 95% blocked (2 stents) and 90% for the one they ballooned.
I would take it easy until you get the results.
