Took my GMC to JohnLabudas funeral home layout in Herminie. His 70 GTO and his sons 74 GTO were outfront. His casket had a big Pontiac blanket laying in the front. He was holding a Hurst shifter knob. Some guys wore Pontiac shirts,I had a button dress shirt, I was afraid to be noticed at a funeral home. Tomorrow at the church I'll have a nice Pontiac
shirt on. I hope at my funeral ,guys will have open headers for the trip to the grave yard!! Yeah I'm different. |

Spent an hour removing fully cured light gray SPI epoxy smears from the black driver's seat of my wife's Subaru.
I thought I was smart and pulled it out of the garage when spraying the quarter panel repair. A couple days later she found I had gathered primer on the back of my shorts before I proudly pulled her car back in. I can attest to both the amazing adhesion of SPI epoxy and the durability of Suby seat material. Doh! This stuff saved my butt from my butt. In the words of Bob Ross: "We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents." Mike |

Drove the Goat down to the parts store to get some supplies to change the oil in my wife's daily. When I got there it was puking coolant all over which it never does. When I got home it left a trail of coolant up the driveway. Turns out the cap was cracked . It's a reasonably new factory reproduction. Never seen that before.

The gold section - is it made in two pieces? It looks like the seamless tube section got unseamed.

I've had a stat turn almost sideways in a thermostat housing on my Firebird.
Was an aftermarket chrome housing that warped but didn't leak from outside, weird.

Another manufacturer who has successfully made a part with less raw materials, non-existent quality control and no backlash from dissatisfied consumers. Love the 21st century.

Also, finished up my friend’s 4 Jet today. The choke and secondaries were non functional when he handed it to me, so should be a big improvement. Had a heck of a time finding the proper float setting specs for it, as the original carburetor tag was missing. Thanks to Jon “Carbking” for the help.

Have around 1200 miles on new motor but w/ only a 100 micron filter before fuel pump. Tank and sending unit new.
Finally got around to finding a good spot for pre carb 40 micron filter. Mechanic friend who helped me assemble line was absolutely losing his mind trying to get the nylon braided stuff to fit into well lubed AN fittings w/o bunching up. This is an every-weekend racer w/ two cars who says he's plumbed 100s of motors. He eventually pulled out some steel braided line and everything went together easy. There's a 1/2" air gap between line and rad hose and filter is firmly suspended in air between water pump and power steering bracket. Was also able to reattach vapor return line since going w/ RobbMc pump. It's been HOT out here and haven't had trouble w/ re starts when motor's heat soaked so fingers crossed. I'm officially done spending money till next season ; )
