With the average owner built street motor of whatever cid that has less then 10 to 1 with aftermarket heads that are not being fully utilized flow wise by the cam being run you can count on needed 4.2 to 4.4 intake cfm @ 28” to make 1 HP per cylinder.

Ah, thanks for the info all. Got my shop back after a divorce, found my old T2 intake and got all excited for a minute. Then reality set in, I'm not gonna mess with the car. Gonna take the kids camping this weekend and fix sprinklers. That's life I guess!

That large of an engine is begging for an open plane intake. no need for extra low end. torker 2 is a great intake.

My setup with OF 1.0 460cid and kre 310 D ports did not pick up with a cnc 3xtrude honed t2 by bishop. Barely seales with 2mm of meat on one runner. Basically i couldnt tell the difference. If i were you with a 502 id try a road paver and a ported t2 after you verify the head flow is there

Other than having one on hand and saving money, is there a reason to use a T2 compared to one of the newer model single plane intakes? At least when talking about 455+ ci engines.
I know there isnt much data yet on the new Victor JR yet, but I think I would be thinking one of those with a tapered spacer would be the ticket for a street oriented engine with the cubic inches to still make low end power with a single plane.

I think a single plane would probably pick it up. A T2 might be pushing it on a 505 but even my mild Stump Puller 455 using one I ported the heck out of and added weld made well over 500 hp! Heck my 470" 409 made 604hp with a dual plane dual quad! I think a SD modified Holley will do about the same.
I think hood clearance/height is the issue with others like the Victor. Even on my 500 in the Camaro with a cowl hood can not fit a spacer and an aircleaner, but it likes a 1" taper on top of a 1" open. A Northwind is lower and I bet why Edelbrock made the lower Victor Jr!

Probably repeating myself, but no lack of torque on the street here with a single-plane intake...
On my 505 I dyno tested with a Victor intake that had the carb flange milled down 0.650" to help with clearance under the hood. On the dyno with no carb spacer it made 599.9 ft. lbs torque at 4100 rpm (start of the dyno pull ). No dyno pulls at a lower rpm, but off idle response was no issue in the car ! At 4900 rpm (peak tq) it had 639.0 ft. lbs torque and at 5700 rpm it was making 600.3 ft. lbs torque. At 6000 peak power rpm it still made 577 ft.lbs. torque. Old style Edelbrock heads / about 320 cfm @ .700" 10:00:1 compression UltraDyne MSP solid roller- 255/261 @.050" 110 LSA .

For interest, and info for those interested...
Dyno tested combination: 4.250" stroke / 4.180" bore KRE 300/305 cfm d-port heads 10.5:1 compression SD Performance Road Paver Cam ( 246/252 @ .050" ) Using solid roller lifters and 1.52 rocker arms. Torker II intake, cnc port match / HP950 carb / 1" super sucker spacer 3500-3600 rpm 531 ft.lbs tq (start of dyno pull ) Peak torque at 4600/4700 rpm ( 593 to 600 ft.lbs tq ) Peak power at 5800 rpm ( 588 hp ) Something to consider... It has been touted mechanical cams usually need about 8-10 degrees more duration to have a comparable power band to a hydraulic lifter cam in the same engine. .
